10 Signs You’re In Love With Your Best Friend

There’s nothing more beautiful than a friendship that suddenly turns into love – it’s so easy and natural to fall in love with a person that knows you so well!  Most of us have experienced that feeling (and hopefully not regretted it!). But if you’ve never had feelings for your best mate, or you want to know if you might have, here are 10 signs you’re in love with your best friend.

Waiting for their goodnight text.

A classic – the first and easier sign to spot! If you can’t sleep when they haven’t texted you ‘goodnight’ yet, if you feel the day is not complete when you haven’t talked to them, if the last thing to do before going to bed is sending them a text, it’s very likely you are in love with them.

They are the first person you call.

You get your A level results and they went well – you call them to celebrate.  You get your grade for an assignment at uni, it’s crap – you call them to complain. You just feel low and you want to go out for coffee – you call them. Your car broke down and you don’t know what to do – you call them. If they happen to be the first person you think of when needing advice, help or just a chat, you are probably in love.

It just feels natural to share everything with them.

It feels so natural to spend time with them and make memories, that when they are not around you feel like something is missing. This is definitely one of the signs you’re in love with your best friend.

They know things you’ve never told anyone.

They basically know all the things that you’ve never told anyone else: embarrassing crushes, that time you broke your nose while playing volleyball, your favourite romantic films and what food you eat when you are sad.

You tell them your dreams too.

I think that sharing your dreams with someone means you feel very close to them – they are representations of your subconscious and they are very intimate.

You are jealous AF.

I’ve never thought of yourself like a jealous person until now. But you are jealous around them. When I say jealous, I mean jealous of their friends, of their dog, of your friends that somehow became their friends too, of the person they are dating – of basically everyone that is spending time with them!

Their partner is a freak.

If they are in a serous relationship or if they have been, it’s very likely that you don’t like their partner at all.

They are perfect.

If you are in love with your best friend, they seem flawless to your eye and every time someone points out one of their imperfections, you don’t agree at all. You feel they are also very similar to you: you share the same interests and you love the same things, they are in some way your better reflection.

Every person they date seems ugly to you.

This is probably one of the most important and recognisable signs! I can assure you that if you are in love with your best friend, then suddenly every person they are dating will look ugly to you. That’s because you feel that no one is good enough for them!

Spending time with them is enough to turn a bad day into a good one.

When you’re in love with your best friend, even spending 5 minutes with them on a bad day is enough to feel better. You can be sure this is one of the signs you’re in love with your best friend.
