The Hospital de la Santa Creu y Sant Pau, although becoming more of a tourist attraction, is still often omitted as an important landmark. Designed by Domenech and Montaner, the complex is perfect for a lazy stroll on a spring day. The beautifully restored (no longer used) rooms continue the unique architectural trends of the city.
The Latino bars hidden amongst touristy restaurants provide the unique laid back atmosphere an experienced traveler might seek. Just a few minutes from the centre, in the district of Poble Sec, you will surely stumble upon places such as Electropikal – a (surprisingly affordable) feast for the senses – don’t miss it!
The beaches in Barcelona, near the city center, are lined with great restaurants and a laid back atmosphere, but in the warmer months, they may get much too hectic. The best thing to do? Go a bit further out, to adjacent beaches, such as Montgat!
