8 Must-Have Waterproof Makeup Products To Conquer This Summer With

Having the best waterproof makeup is essential if you’re the sort of person who wants to be prepared for all scenarios. Not sure if it’s going to rain? Wear waterproof products. Feeling low and there’s a chance you might cry? Wear waterproof products. Other than sometimes being difficult to remove, waterproof makeup is an amazing alternative to the usual makeup which smudges as soon as you touch your face. Here are some of our favourite products just in time for summer!

1. Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

While I haven’t yet treated myself to this foundation, it’s definitely on the shopping list – I’ve heard some really great reviews from my friends, and if their amazing eyeshadow palettes are anything to go by, I don’t doubt that this product really does live up to its reputation. Not only is it completely oil-free and matte, but you can use one pump for your entire face! That means you’re not going to have to fork out for a new one every two weeks, which is definitely a bonus if you wear makeup every day. Perfect for if you’re going on a night out and need to stay looking fresh!

2. Estée Lauder Double Wear Waterproof Concealer

Concealer acts as the perfect finishing touch for every makeup look, so quite frankly, I’d be lost if I found it had disappeared from my makeup bag. While I have tried many cheap concealers in the past, this one is now my go to product, and it really helps to hide the bags under my eyes (trust me, they’re there to stay). You only need to put a little bit under your eyes or over any blemishes, and you’re sorted. Knowing that it will truly hide any flaws you may have makes it a product difficult to resist buying.

3. NYX Full Throttle Waterproof Lipsticks

One word: wow. The number of times I’ve had to stand in the mirror on a night out and re-apply my lipstick, just for my friend to then tell me that it’s coming off again is sad. Very sad. Luckily, these lipsticks are here to stay in more ways than one. You have beautifully bold colours to choose from, and while you may have to scrub your lips to remove them at the end of the day, they’ll be totally worth the extra effort. Just think of the photos, guys.

4. Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Mascara

Waterproof mascara is arguably the most important product to have on hand. Whether you’re a keen swimmer or make a habit of getting emotional over sad films on Netflix (‘Me Before You’ gets me every time), it’s likely that your mascara won’t stay put for very long. This mascara will save you the woes of your eyes looking vastly similar to that of a panda, and instead promises to be ultra-resistant, sealing your lashes one layer at a time. Perfect lashes for 16 whole hours? Yes please!

5. Cargo Cosmetics Swimmable Water Resistant Blush

A bit of a mouthful, sure, but this waterproof makeup product does not disappoint. You could quite literally jump into a swimming pool and find that your colour is still clinging on to your cheeks, and with a choice of three shades (Bali, Ibiza and Los Cabos, how exotic), you can change your look each time you go swimming. Be prepared for people to ask how on Earth your makeup survived the chlorine!

6. L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow really is the perfect way of making your eyes stand out, and with 24 shades available you are certainly spoilt for choice. Said to ‘stay put from AM to PM’, you won’t be disappointed by the pigmentation on your eyelids because it will literally stick to them like paint. This may not sound too appealing, but you’ll certainly thank yourself for your purchase once you’ve seen how smoothly it glides on and how vibrant it looks.

7. Maybelline Superstay 24HR Pressed Powder

If you’re not someone who likes to spend a lot on makeup products, this drugstore powder is a must buy for you. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know powder could be waterproof before I found this product, but it really will provide you with flawless skin all day long. Add it to your shopping list!

8. Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade

As far as waterproof makeup goes, this sounds pretty fancy, but don’t be fooled by the name – it’s still incredibly easy to use. Not only is this a customer favourite, but it’s also award-winning (yep, you heard me), so do try to ignore the price and treat yourself ready for Summer. It’s both pigmented and buildable, so you don’t have to worry about having brows that are too dark, and it dries really quickly so you can’t accidentally smudge it! An incredible buy for those of you obsessed with having brows that are ‘on fleek’.
