Here’s How To Have A Relaxing Day Trip To London

Day trips to London can be fun and not stressful to plan. There are so many things to do that you will always have something to do! This itinerary is specially designed for those who want to have a relaxing day trip to London, not a super packed schedule with activities.

Breakfast/Brunch.

Depending where you’re staying you should be able to find a good place to eat. A few suggestions are The Breakfast Club, where you can get both pancakes and eggs, Chiltern Firehouse, Dishoom, Eggbreak. If you don’t want to sit and have a proper breakfast you can find a bakery and get some coffee and pastries on the go. A great bakery is Gail’s (I LOVE their cinnamon buns!), or Ole & Steen in central London.

Museum time!

After having breakfast or brunch, I would suggest to go to a museum. There are so many in London, and they are so interesting! In South Kensington you’ll find the popular ones such as the Natural History Museum or the Science Museum, but if you want to see something different go to Tate Modern museum. It’s all about art and you’ll take some amazing Instagram pictures! You can also go to Greenwich to the Planetarium if you’re not interested in museums at all.

Tea time!

After the museum, you must be knackered! It’s time for tea though and to relax our feet. You can find a small coffee shop and have a cup of coffee or tea and a little snack if you’re feeling a bit hungry. A very cute cafe is the Peggy Porschen Cakes. When you google the destinations and see the pictures, you’ll see why it’s so popular!

Time for a stroll.

You can now go for a walk around London to see the sights and enjoy what the city has to offer. Thankfully, all the important sights are close together. You’ll be able to walk on the Southbank and see the London Eye, cross the Westminster bridge and on your left is Big Ben and the Parliament. Next, on your right is Trafalgar square and behind it Leicester square and Chinatown. A few minutes away from Trafalgar square is Buckingham Palace. Don’t miss your chance to say hi to our Queen!

Dinner time!

You must be starving after all this walking! Head over to Soho for some good food. Close to Greek Street there’s Patty & Bun for some juicy burgers and cocktails (happy hour at 5!!) or BimBimBap for a Korean rice bowl that will fill you up!

Drinks?

If you’re not tired after spending the whole day outside, you can head over to a pub or bar for drinks. You’re in the heart of Soho after all, so what better place to get tipsy? There’s Be at One for great cocktails and music, Zebrano, Gem Bar. You can also head over to Carnaby Street!
