Green Food For St. Patrick’s Day That Everyone Will Love

In a month will be St. Patrick’s Day, the lucky feast that everybody loves! You don’t need to be in Ireland or an Irish pub for celebrating the green day of Irish culture at the best. Although everywhere you will find parties dedicated to the protector saint of Ireland, this year you can opt for something different and recreate the party at your home.

Organise a dinner with some friends, decorate your house with shamrock and green table cloth, dress up and, of course, prepare the best of the green food for St. Patrick Day. Check out these recipes, among some starters, mains and desserts, and pull out your green spirit! Everybody will be in love with your menu.

1. Avocado Hummus-dip

Halfway between guacamole and hummus, everybody will love this dip. Easy and quick to prepare, you can serve it with some nachos or raw veggies. A fresh and health starter, ideal for welcoming your guests. Match it with a nice pint of Guinness and let’s start your party!

2. Shamrock Chips

A very easy and impressive green food for St. Patrick’s day, these shamrock chips will boost your dinner up! You need just a shamrock cookie cutter and some spinach tortilla. Once you will cut your chips, spray them with cooking oil, sprinkle with salt and bake for 10 minutes. And voilà: your little shamrocks will be ready to be served with your favorite dip.

3. Avocado and Salmon Tartare

What’s better combination than salmon and avocado? These two ingredients are simply perfect together! Cut in cubes the salmon and marinate it with olive oil, lemon, a pinch of salt and pepper. Prepare the avocado in the same way or, if you prefer the effect, smashed it. If you don’t like raw fish, you can use smoked salmon instead. Enjoy!

4. Basil Pesto Lasagne

Who said that exist just the bolognese lasagne? The reality is that for this typical Italian meal there are lots of variations. Here, as a fantastic idea of green food for St. Patrick’s Day: a basil pesto lasagne. For making the pesto blend basil, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, olive oil and garlic. Then, fill the pasta layers with it and your favorite cheese. Banging!

5. Spaghetti with Zucchini Pesto, Shrimps and Cherry Tomato

Here, we have another tasty and easy green main! For making a zucchini pesto you need just to add a couple of courgettes in the basil pesto recipe. Then, cook for some minutes shrimps with cherry tomatoes. Once spaghetti will be ready, mix everything together. Trust me, everybody will ask for an extra portion!

6. Spinach, Ricotta and Feta Quiche

As for lasagne, the nice characteristic of a quiche is that you can make it with whatever you prefer. Here, a perfect recipe to add among your favourite green food for St. Patrick’s Day. Spinach, ricotta and feta mixed together really work! Plus, if you want to impressive your guest try to recreate the shape of a shamrock with your tart.
