Avocados! We sure do love them, us millenials. In fact, love them so much that they’re the reason we’re not getting on the property ladder. Because we’re spending all of our hard earned pounds on these green nuggets of nature’s crack. We can barely afford rent, that’s how much we love avocados! Look at us, queuing around the block for that sweet sweet avocado toast for brunch. That’s why you don’t own a house yet. Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the property market is… well. A bit shit, isn’t it. Quite crooked. Anyways. Here’re some delicious avocado recipes to make in your rented home:
These are a great thing to bring to a summer barbeque/picnic! They’re loaded with good stuff and lots of flavour (and are really easy to make). Try grilling the avocado before filling it. Recipe here.
A fun, healthy, avocado-filled twist on the classic. Click here for the recipe.
Everyone knows that eggs and avocado are amazing together, so why not bake an egg in an avocado? Get the recipe here.
This is for when you’re feeling fancy but can’t really be arsed actually being fancy. Toss a few ingredients into a bowl and you’re sorted! Recipe here.
The other thing we millenials love more than property is hummus. Combine our two great loves, and make avocado hummus. You can spread it on Ryvita in that rental of yours! Click here for the recipe.
Try grilling your avocados with this sticky, sweet soy/miso/citrus glaze. Recipe here.
Arepas are typical to Venezuelan and Colombian cuisine, and they’re pretty easy to make – not to mention gluten-free! Click here for the recipe.
Tbh, you can have this breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would love this for a hungover brunch. Like, I wouldn’t make this for myself hungover, but I would want someone to bring this to me in bed and then leave me to fester in my Netflix coma. Get the recipe here.
You can’t really go wrong with tacos, and these are incredible. Recipe here.
