As the Summer sun fades and the long shadows of summer lovin’, days in Whitworth Park and NQ beer gardens fade into a distant memory – all may not be lost. Manchester’s biggest indoor festival returns to Victoria Warehouse for a day of indie classic’s from headliners Franz Ferdinand and The Cribs through to Manny local’s ‘Larkins’. At just £30 a ticket you get to see a lot of music – albeit with a tightly tailored line-up.
This arena-rock love story will have you jamming on your air guitar all the way back to your single-bed apartment. This musical is mostly the Guitar Hero soundtrack so expect ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, ‘We Built This City’ and the sense you should actually learn an instrument.
The 21st instalment of the critically acclaimed grub and booze festival see’s culinary events across the city, with a booming post-work/weekend hangout in it’s Albert Square hub. With a new site design this year, including the Dining Dome – ‘a great big spherical foodie palace’, be sure to grab yourself a drink and have a mooch round the food stalls…at least once!
The Transpennine Real Ale Trail is available all year round. It simply involves a return ticket to Huddersfield, a few mates and a generous thirst for Yorkshiire and Lancashires best real ale pubs. Stopping off at quaint local pubs at the turn of the season is well worth a trip and with CHEAP pints, plan your trip now.
Following on from their sold-out Wembley show in 2017, the legendary Jeff Lynne’s ELO puts on two nights in the Manchester Arena. ELO have much more to offer than the timeless ‘Mr Blue Sky’ with over 50 million record sales worldwide and a string of galactic hits between 1972 and 1986. Tickets for this won’t come cheap but all legends come at a price.
