10 Cheap Vacations For A Romantic Winter Weekend

This winter we can sometimes feel a lack of intimacy begin to infiltrate our romantic relationships because of the weather and what we feel like as an inability to do things. Of course this can start to have a negative effect on our interactions with the other person but this can also be easily fixed. Some romance and some effort is all it takes to overcome those winter blues with your significant other and so here are 10 cheap vacations for a romantic winter weekend!

1. Your Backyard

Now, hear me out on this one! Not only will be one of the cheapest vacations you will ever have but it will also probably be one you will never forget! Simply take what you have at hand whether it be a tent or a teepee and set some blankets, candles and other comfort items down and simply enjoy being together in the fresh air, still warm and with each other. You don’t have to sleep outside the entire night but pretending as though you’re on an adventure but are in some ways using your imagination like children, this is bound to positively impact your relationship. Even better, you can still use the shower and the toilet as you please. Try this one and have fun!

2. The Snow

The snow is notoriously experienced but instead of going skiing and paying all the expenses with going on the slopes you can simply head up the mountain and stay closer to its base and save on accomodation. Mt. Bulla is incredibly popular in winter and there are a number of cheaper options available when you stay a little further away. You will still feel the same magic of the mountain but you won’t spend nearly as much than someone staying on the slopes. So have a look around and depending on your budget find somewhere nearby and still enjoy the cooler weather with someone you love on one of these cheap vacations.

3. Go Camping!

Similar to the backyard idea, depending on how far you are willing to travel, look into campgrounds and find one that best suits your budget. While some campgrounds require you to pay in order to stay there, a number of others are also free to use. This is one of the cheapest vacations and can be fun and exhilarating. Let the adrenalin from being outdoors warm both you and your partner up this winter!

4. A Night In The City

It’s a myth that spending a night in the city is expensive, it can be costly but it can also be one of the cheapest vacations if you do your research. There are a number of hotels available in Melbourne’s CBD that are affordable and close to the action. You can stay near South Bank and in walking distance of all the best cafes and restaurants. This does not have to break your budget but it will be special to do with your partner this winter.

5. By The Ocean

Staying by the ocean can be as cheap or as expensive as you like. You can simply pull up in your call and cuddle in for the night or you can look at surrounding accomodation that is available. There are a number of low-cost motels that you will always find by the ocean that you can stay in without spending too much for the room. Air BnBs by the ocean can also be incredibly cost-effective. Staying by the sea in winter can be transcending and worth the trip! Try The Great Ocean Road!

6. House Sit For A Friend

A lot of people will choose to go on holiday over winter in order to escape the cold and so this is a good opportunity to house sit for a friend. In most cases, you don’t have to fork out any cash but might even get paid for your time looking after their home while they are aware. This doesn’t sound like a holiday but it can feel like one! Plus you can spend time with your partner and help out a friend, sometimes the cheapest vacations don’t sound like vacations at all.

7. A Treehouse

You can find one of the cheapest vacations in the form of a tree house. They can be small but are almost always innovative and are usually available at a fair price. Not to mention staying in a tree house in winter is a beautiful experience, can’t you hear the sound of the rain falling all around you? So calming and a worthy option for you and your partner to try!

9. A Cottage

A cottage is one of the most romantic vacations you will ever have. Depending on where you go and what you are willing to spend makes the experience completely unique but also gives it the opportunity to grant you both deeper desires and make you feel fulfilled this winter, despite the dreary weather outside. Olinda is a great area to try when it comes to cottage accomodation!
