10 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Lived In Leeds

Leeds is home to a lot of important celebrities. From Olympic athletes to actors and performers, these are 10 celebrities you probably didn’t know were from Leeds!

1. Alistair Brownlee

Alistair Brownlee is a British triathlon athlete born on 23 April 1988. He graduated from the University of Leeds and was the 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the triathlon. Alistar also won the Ironman 70.3 series at North American Championships in Utah this past year. He was the champion of the 2017 ITU World Triathlon in Leeds.

2. Jonny Brownlee

Jonny Brownlee is an English professional duathlete and triathlete. He won 3rd place in the 2012 London Olympic and 2nd place in Rio. Jonny graduated from the University of Leeds. He won the silver medal in 2017 at the ITU World Triathlon in Leeds.

3. Chris Mears

Chris Mears is a British Diver who won the diving gold medal with Jack Laugher at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He is also the Commonwealth and European Champion. When he isn’t competing, he is a DJ and music producer.

4. Jack Laugher

Jack Laugher made history at the 2016 Olympic Games by becoming the first ever Olympic Champion for Great Britain and then followed it up days later with an individual silver in the 3m Springboard, making him one of the most successful British divers. He won both the 1m Springboard and Men’s 3m Synchro events at the National Diving Cup in Plymouth.

5. Matthew Lewis

Matthew Lewis is a English actor who is best known for playing his iconic role of Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films.


6. James Frain

James Frain is one of Hollywood’s most versatile and respected actors who has a reputation for bold, intelligent performances in a diverse body of work. He has collaborated with some of the finest actors and directors working today.

7. John Smith

John Smith won the best actor award at the Valencia Film Festival for his film debut in Boston Kickout in 1995.

10. Gabby Logan

Gabby Logan is an actress known for The Premier League Show in 2016. She’s a former international gymnast and won 8th place in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. She presents a football series on ITV1 in the UK called “On The Ball”.
