I think we can all agree, it’s not love that makes the world go round – it’s food. And good food is worth sharing. So here’s our diverse list of the 8 best food places in Oldham.
Nestled right in the centre of town just up from the new cinema complex, Smoke Yard has to be first on the list because it’s a proven favourite of pretty much every Oldhamer going. It’s a burger and BBQ place with a menu full of variety at pretty decent prices!
We’d recommend: The house rolled and season Lamb Kofta if you’re hungry, or the baked macaroni cheese if you want some serious comfort food. Oh – and you can never go wrong with any of their burgers.
The Fairview Inn is THE place to go for a carvery. Trust me, the food there is the die for. But make sure to book a table in advance, this place is seriously popular, especially on Sundays!
Okay, so the title of ‘best local chippy’ causes some pretty divisive opinions, but hear me out. You have to try Eastern Light’s chips and gravy at least once in your life. It’s a real marmite kinda thing, you’ll either love the rich gravy, or hate it. But you’ve got to try it.
The Blue Tiffin has been a part of Oldham for 14 years now, and it’s been here so long because it provides delicious food, a great atmosphere and a gorgeous restaurant, all with great prices. If you live in Oldham you have to go to the Blue Tiffin at least once, it’s basically a rite of passage. Hey, they even do a buffet on Sundays! Perfect for when you can’t decide what to have from their extensive menu.
If you’re looking for a non-chain coffee spot then this is your place. The toffee latte is to die for, seriously. This place does some great hand crafted sandwiches and pizza, and it’s totally Instagram worthy too.
The Old School BBQ bus shot to social media fame as soon as it opened, and we can see why. Every single one of their dishes looks to die for, and with such a great menu you’re really spoilt for choice!
Looking for your sweet fix? Look no further than the VCK! Its tiny tearoom is choc full of cakes, traybakes and more. With every visit there seems to be a new delight on the menu, all crafted by hand and all the different flavour conceptions thought up by the dream team behind the counter. Mars Bar cupcake, anyone?
Okay, Albion Farm Shop is my one true love in Oldham. I literally can’t put into words how great this place is, you seriously need to see it to believe it. The have huge menu full of locally sourced or home grown things, and if that wasn’t enough for you there’s a farm shop right next door! Honestly, Albion farm shop is just really lovely, from the food to the location and even down to the decor.
