When it comes to argan oil, I do believe that it’s liquid gold in a bottle! It’s so nourishing and hydrating that it should be in every product! You do see it in a few of them but it’s even more powerful when it’s 100% argan oil. Here are 10 argan oil uses that you didn’t know about.
Argan oil is mostly known for its moisturising properties. Because it is high in Vit E & A and several fatty acids, the skin stays hydrated and soft. If you purchase it as an oil, try using it after a shower on dry areas such as your elbows and your knees.
It’s also known as an ingredient in a few shampoo and conditioner products. As mentioned before, it is a really hydrating oil which helps revive even your hair. It nourishes split ends and brings back the colour in your hair when you use it as a leave-in conditioner.
Argan oil can also be used on acne. It’s highly anti inflammatory and regulates sebum production which will actually control acne a bit better than chemicals specifically for acne. It will soothe the skin and make it less red and inflamed.
It’s used by pregnant women as well, to prevent stretch marks. The Vit E helps with the elasticity of the skin, making it more bouncy, helping with wrinkles and stretch marks.
Apart from skin and hair, argan oil can also be used as a lip moisturiser!
It’s perfect for dry skin on the feet and hands. It soothes and heals raw and cracked skin. It also helps your nails grow a bit faster and stronger.
In Morocco, people use it as a healing ointment as well. It’s highly concentrated in antioxidants and omega 3 vitamins that help with healing and closing up of wounds.
Argan oil uses help with eczema. It repairs damaged skin and treats dry flaky skin quite quickly. It soothes and hydrates.
It can be used as a base for exfoliation. You can make your own exfoliating cream with argan oil as the main ingredient and brown sugar, to get rid of dead skin cells and hydrate your skin simultaneously.
For hair loss, research has shown that argan oil uses stimulate the scalp to produce more hair follicles because of its rich content in nutrients and vitamins. It also treats dandruff and dry itchy scalp.
