The North Laine

It’s impossible not to fall in love with Brighton’s bohemian North Laine area, particularly in the summer. These narrow streets are packed full of independent cafes, restaurants, quirky shops and bars and the area is loved by locals and tourists alike. The colourful buildings here also mean it’s one of the most picturesque areas in the city and the best place to take your Insta’s.

South Lanes

Brighton’s South Lanes, or the posh lanes as they are often known, are one of the most picturesque and oldest parts of the city. Unlike the North Laine, the south lanes are a little more high end, offering lots of restaurants, bars, antique shops, and fancier stores. So, if you’re after a nice dinner out in the warmer months, this is the area that you’ll want to go.

The South Downs National Park

Everyone thinks of Brighton as a beach town but what a lot of people forget is that the city borders on to the countryside too. Just a short bus ride away from the city centre is the start of the south downs, a huge national park that stretches out for 260 square miles. With plenty of walking trails to follow and pubs to visit, the countryside really of the nicest places to spend a summer’s day in Brighton.

Pavilion Gardens

Located right in the heart of the city, the Pavilion Gardens is a chilled place to sit and enjoy your lunch outside in the summer.  The gardens are home to the Royal Pavilion palace, a former royal residence of the Prince Regent and now an iconic Brighton landmark. Because the gardens are located in the heart of the city, it’s so easy to pick up a tasty lunch form one of the cafes nearby and eat it out in the sun.

Hove Beach Huts

Hove Beach is a must visit in Brighton if you want to escape the summer crowds. Located just a short walk along the coast from Brighton’s main beach, Hove beach is more popular with locals and its a nice place to spend a relaxing day, swimming and chilling on the beach. Be sure to stop by the hove beach huts, another iconic Brighton landmark. These colourful bathing huts are gorgeous and will look great on your Instagram feed.
