7 Weekend Activities For Even The Most Complicated People

The good news is that is never, when in beautiful Montréal, a shortage of weekend activities. However, the bad news is that you may or may not have to drag alongside you a very complicated person who simply enjoys saying “no” to everything that you suggest. Thankfully, this here list contains weekend activities that even the most complicated people will have a difficult time to resist. If all else fails, there are still seven billion other people in the wild, just sayin’.

1. Visit Parc Jean Drapeau’s “Fete Des Neiges” Winter Festival

Out of all the winter weekend activities, Fete des Neiges is the perfect choice for stubborn couples who love the snow and all things cold (you’d be surprised to learn that these people do, in fact, exist). Located outdoors (obviously) in the heart of Parc Jean Drapeau, this winter fest brings together thousands of excited visitors searching for the ultimate winter amusement. Be warned though, because the fun ends on the 10th of February. So, what exactly are you waiting for; grab that toboggan and get moving!

2. Devour A Slice Of Montreal’s Newest Wood Oven Pizza Restaurant

Even the most complicated of people cannot deny a delicious slice of pizza, especially when it’s prepared the old fashion way. With that in mind, you may want to check out Fugazzi Pizza (1886 Centre St, Montreal, QC). The establishment has a rustic and laid-back vibe that anyone can appreciate. Plus, it always helps that the pizza is actually good quality.

3. Experience SAT Fest 2019’s Immersive Short-Films

Among the weekend activities on this list, this event is perfect for tech lovers. That is, until February 8th, the Société des arts technologiques will be hosting its sixth edition of SAT Fest, delivering six short (technologically advanced) films created by artists from all around the world, including Japan, Brazil, United Kingdom, and Australia. You surely don’t want to miss this one!

4. Attend Old Port’s Natrel Skating Rink

Until March 10th, you and your most complicated loved one can skate, glide and/or fall face-first across the chilled outdoor rink. Likewise, you will have the opportunity to experience the associated cozy and welcoming village with the likes of Bistro Bonesecours. Without further ado, it is time to dust off and lace up those skates and, I shouldn’t even have to mention this, dress warmly!

5. Experience The Unique Ecomuseum Zoo

If, to you, the perfect weekend activities do not entail freezing off your giblets, why not journey to Montreal’s very own Ecomuseum Zoo (21125 Sainte Marie Rd, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC), a zoological park founded in 1988. With heaps of animals to gawk at, this exceptional zoo is conveniently open 364 days per year and is just twenty minutes away from downtown.

6. Laugh Until You Faint At The Comedy Nest

Even the most neurotic of individuals can’t refrain from laughing hysterically until they faint and/or are subsequently removed by security. That basically sums up your weekend activities when visiting The Comedy Nest (within the Montreal Forum, open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).

You will enjoy a show in an authentic cabaret setting, with candle-lit tables and a full-service bar. What’s more, you’ll be listening to a hilarious lineup of comedians who have worked on shows and events such as The Tonight Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central, Just For Laughs, and even The Comedy Network. Now that’s impressive.

(P.S. I was joking about the security…I think.)

7. If All Else Fails…Sushi

If, for some bizarre reason, all other suggestions fail to entice your loved one, then your plan B would definitely be to spend a night out at one of the numerous all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, conveniently scattered throughout the city. And, if they do not enjoy the fine art of sushi, move on because your future looks grim! This is probably the best advice I can give you.

Helllllloooo ladies and gents, I am from Montreal, Canada and a recent Concordia University psychology grad. My topics of interest are, of course, psychology, music, gaming, health and nutrition, pharmaceuticals, lifestyle, among others. My end goal is to become an editor and/or find the world's best beer. Luckily for me, Montreal already has the latter covered. Cheers!
