We’re all guilty of going on vacation, buying souvenirs, and never putting them to good use. Here are 5 souvenirs you should buy on your next trip, and what you should do with them after!
This one speaks for itself. Personally, my favourite souvenir is a shot glass because not only is it a memory of where you went, its practical, and can be used after you get back home!
Suppose you go somewhere with fascinating history or events that make the place what it is today. Buy a souvenir to remember that! For example, if you are in Italy, pick up a Venetian mask, or if you are in Mexico, pick up something traditional like hand-painted maracas. While these may not have a huge practical use to them, its such a great way to remember where you went.
Again, while these may not have the most practical use, a lot of countries have unique coins that would make cool souvenirs. For example, Canada now has the 150th anniversary coin! Even if it is just 5 cents, or a $1 bill, you can keep that as a memory. Also, this is easy because there’s a high chance you’ll come back from vacation with spare change!
The easiest souvenir to buy for someone (or yourself) is definitely a magnet. Most places have tons to choose from! This is a souvenir that will never go wrong.
Whether you give it to a friend when you get home, or send it to them in the mail while travelling, post cards are a wonderful souvenir. Just like magnets, there are so many choices. The main perk is you can make it very personal by writing a message on the back before giving it to anyone!!
