I think we can all agree that fall is one of the best seasons. You’ve got sweaters, boots, warm blankets, falling leaves… what could be better? Yeah, summer is cool, but have you been to a pumpkin patch?
If you’re dying to jump into fall and need a little help getting there, here is the fall movie you should watch right now based on your zodiac sign to help you get into the fall season!
1. Aries (March 21 – April 19)
A huge part of fall is the colors of orange and red, which just so happen to be your power colors, Aries. To help hone in on this aesthetic, you need to go to Wes Anderson, the winner of all things fall and aesthetic.
To help get you in the fall mood, take a look at The Fantastic Mr. Fox. While it may be a movie targeted for kids, it is an enjoyable movie for people of all ages to watch. The film itself is absolutely stunning, and there’s no shortage of fall foliage!
And if we had to guess, we’d say Mr. Fox is a total Aries with a tremendous work ethic, and he is very driven, just like you!
2. Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Find someone who doesn’t love Reese Witherspoon, we’ll wait. Reese Witherspoon is America’s Sweetheart, and she can do no wrong, which is why your fall movie, Taurus, is Sweet Home Alabama. While it might not seem like it at first glance, Sweet Home Alabama is set during the fall and fall usually means family time which you’re all about… even if Melanie isn’t.
Just like Melanie, you are extremely hard working, so you deserve all the beautiful and shiny things that come along with it! To put it simply, you both enjoy luxury, and who doesn’t? But something will always bring you back home, and since you tend to be a homebody, you’re pretty okay with that!
3. Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
As a Gemini, you’ve often been called two-faced or double-sided… but that doesn’t always have to be a bad thing! Some people might not think you have a plan or that you lack direction, but they’re totally wrong. You’re actually incredibly intelligent and gifted, making Good Will Hunting the story of your life.
Good Will Hunting is a fantastic coming-of-age story about a “wicked smaht” guy who just got a bad hand of cards… sound familiar? The movie is perfect for getting you in the fall mood with the start of a new school year and gorgeous autumn scenery… and apples. How you like them apples?
4. Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Get ready to be emotional, Cancer, because your fall movie is definitely Stepmom.
As a Cancer, you are often referred to as the mother of all zodiacs. You care so deeply for those that you love and want what is best for everyone. In many ways, you embody both Isabel, the stepmom, and Jackie, the OG mom, in every way. You are protective of your family and may come off as cold sometimes, but you mean well.
This movie will put you right into the fall mood with changing seasons and big, cozy sweaters. And because you are highly emotional, we suggest buying two or three boxes of tissues (you’re going to need them).
5. Leo (July 23 – August 22)
All Leos can agree that friends and family come first. But can friends just stay friends? Or does it almost always turn into something more? To figure that out, Leo, you’re going to have to watch When Harry Met Sally.
Just like Sally, you are incredibly witty, kind, and love your friends deeply. Sometimes you wish you could just be friends with a guy without it progressing into a relationship… but sometimes it just happens that way!
This movie is the definition of fall aesthetic, and if you’re looking to jump into fall, this is the perfect movie.
6. Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Whenever someone needs advice, they always turn to you, Virgo, just like everyone turns to Dan in Dan in Real Life.
You are a perfectionist so, naturally, everyone thinks your life is perfect! People are always asking you for help because you’ve got it all figured out… except secretly you don’t, none of us do! And sometimes you wish you could get a little advice of your own!
Dan in Real Life is the story of an advice columnist whose life is anything but figured out, and yet he is giving sage advice to others!
While this movie isn’t actually a fall movie, there is something about it that will put you in the autumn mood and, as a bonus, is a movie you can watch all year round!
7. Libra (September 23 – October 22)
One of the best fall movies ever is arguably Dead Poets Society and Libra, this movie is totally you!
Dead Poets Society is about a group of prep-school boys who don’t really take school all that seriously or just don’t love it in general. The idea of poetry puts them to sleep until their teacher shows them the beauty it actually brings.
Libras have an undeniable appreciation for literature and poetry and all things artistic, that this movie is perfect for you. It is full of fall foliage and starts at the beginning of the school year (which is fall). It also helps that Robin Williams is in it…
8. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Well, Scorpio, let’s face it… you’re kinda creepy… and kooky… mysterious and spooky… Lucky for you there’s a fall movie for that! You wouldn’t fit into just any family, but you sure would fit into the Addams Family.
To help get you into the fall mood (like you need any help doing that), we recommend you watch The Addams Family Values (as if you don’t already own it). The Addams Family Values, in particular, is excellent for fall because it alludes to Thanksgiving and Halloween, two fall holidays you look forward to each year! But we understand, it’s Halloween every day for you and the Addams, Scorpio.
9. Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
You love to travel, Sagittarius, and have undeniable wanderlust. So if you had to pick a way to do that, would you choose a plane, train, or automobile?
It’s crazy that there aren’t many Thanksgiving movies out there except for this hidden gem. To help you get in the fall mood and help you see the realities of travel, the perfect fall movie for you to watch is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. This underrated comedy tells the story of a man trying to get home for Thanksgiving and all the… unfortunate… things that happen along the way!
Since it is centered around Thanksgiving, there is no shortage of fall in the air, and you won’t be disappointed!
10. Capricorn: December 22 – January 19
As a Capricorn, you are known for your strong work ethic and are somehow able to make seemingly impossible goals a reality, which is why October Sky is a great fall movie for you to watch!
Inspired by a true story (which are the best), Homer gets inspired to become a rocket engineer after witnessing Sputnik cross the sky in October, going against his father’s wishes. We won’t spoil the ending for you (but it’s a good one). Just like Homer, you are extremely driven and want to leave your mark on the world.
Obviously, the most fall month of them all is in the title, but this film also is full of autumn aesthetic, which is a sure-fire way to get you into the fall spirit!
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
As an Aquarius, your favorite hobby is people. Whether you’re people-watching, helping people, or just wanting to be part of the public eye, it doesn’t matter. You’re a humanitarian and want to create a better world, which is probably why you tend to get involved with politics. So it only makes sense that to get in the fall-feels, you watch The Election starring Reese Witherspoon!
The Election is a fun and entertaining coming-of-age story about a high schooler trying to win student president in questionable ways, to say the least. Unlike you, Aquarius, you would never cheat the system, but Tracy Flick has other ideas! This movie is perfect for the beginning of fall because that’s election season and nothing says fall quite like a ballot…
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Pisces are notorious for being “connected to the other side,” which is perfect for fall since Halloween is right in the middle of it! As a Pisces, you are ultra-sensitive and have even been said to have ESP, so what better movie to watch than The Sixth Sense?
Just like you, Cole Sear you have a deep connection with all things mystical and magical. This is a classic Halloween movie, and while it may be a little too early for scary movies, this film is practically autobiographical for you, Pisces!
