10 Worst Beauty Trends Of 2018

There are good beauty trends and bad beauty trends. But these are some of the worst beauty trends of 2018 by a long shot.

Beauty trends are now dictated by what pops up on our Instagram feeds. Some trends are started by prominent celebrities like Kylie Jenner with her plumped lips or Rihanna with her glowy skin. Other beauty trends are created by aspiring beauty gurus. While some trends are easy to latch on to like full and natural eyebrows, others you do not want to touch with a ten foot pole. Here are the worst beauty trends of 2018:

1. Squiggly Eyebrows

Whatever happened to eyebrows having a nice, natural arch? Now some people like to be extra and deliberately make their eyebrows wrinkle. This trend is more painfully repulsive than cute. Also, it is important to note that squiggly eyebrows does not complement any face shape. This is definitely one of the worst beauty trends.

2. Negative Space Eyeliner

This is not necessarily a bad trend, but it is technique that can easily go wrong. Emma Watson rocked this back in 2017 for the L.A. premiere of Beauty and the Beast, but her eyeliner was drawn on subtly with a delicate hand. Some people go overboard and create such a large space with the eyeliner that you can park a tanker truck there. When dabbling with the negative space eyeliner technique, make sure not to overdo, it or you could end up looking like a modern art piece – not in a good way.

3. Neon Makeup

In the same vein as negative space eyeliner, neon makeup is another trend that can go wrong very, very easily. It all boils down to the application of the makeup and what other colors you use to balance the boldness of the neon. Also, as humans, we should have all learned by now about our mistake with neon makeup back in the 80’s.

When Rihanna came out with her beauty line, Fenty Beauty, in 2017, the makeup world changed forever. One product that got a lot of attention was her highlighter in a particular shade called “Trophy Wife”.
