This Winter Skin Care Routine Will Save Your Skin

Skincare is definitely very personal. People are all different, and so is everyone’s skin type. Unfortunately this can be tricky when searching to find a good skincare routine to keep your skin bright, shining, and clear. But, this winter skin care routine has tips for all skin types and has worked great for me!

1. Apply Cleanser

My favorite cleanser when the air is cold and dry tend to be gentle and moisturizing which you will see become a common theme throughout the rest of this article. The first is a more affordable option which is the Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser. It pumps out a pearly glistening liquid. It is gentle but also makes your skin feel clean and refreshed.

2. Use A Toner

The next product I like to use is a toner, although I have only tried a few, there have definitely been ones that have worked better than others. One is a YouTube cult favorite, so if you watched any beauty videos about 5 years ago than you know what I am talking about. It’s called Bioderma, which is micellar water. Sometimes I will use this are a replacement for my cleanser in the morning if my skin already feels clean, I will also use it to remove makeup as well as just a normal toner. I used a makeup wipe the other day that really irritated my skin and left red blotches all over my face. After putting this on a cotton pad and wiping it across my face, my skin felt better immediately and it also took down some of the redness.

Another toner I love is rosewater toner, my favorite being Reviva Labs Rosewater Facial Spray. It is affordable, and sprays evenly over your face to soothe and refresh your skin.

The last toner I would recommend is Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner. This is always fun to use because there is some solid pieces of what I think are flowers floating around at the bottom of the bottom. So it’s always a surprise what it lands on my cotton pad. In regards to performance, this does all that I want out of a toner which doesn’t irritate or make my skin felt tight and preps my skin for whatever I put on next.

3. Always Moisturize

I just recently acquired and started to use this duo, but I’m already in love. I used some of the products from this company before and have yet to find something that I didn’t like. The first part of this dynamic duo is Caudalie’s Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum, and I follow it up with Caudalie’s Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. These two products are great for the winter and will heal your dry skin. The scent of them is incredible, while your skin is left moisturized and not greasy at all.

4. Remove Makeup

For taking off makeup I like to use Mac Cleanse-Off Oil, especially if I have a lot of makeup on. What I love about this is that it’s not going to irritate might skin like most makeup wipes do. You pump it out rub the oil on dry skin to dissolve the makeup. Then you wash it off with water and continue to the rest of your skincare routine.

5. Apply A Facial Mask

My top pick for a winter treatment definitely goes to the Michael Todd Avocado and Mango Hydrating Facial Mask. This smells like a delicious mango smoothie, but you get to rub it all over your face! This mask is great to use during winter because it hydrates your skin, while the scent of mango reminds you that spring and summer are just around the corner!
