15 Ways To Snap Out Of Your Quarantine Funk

During times like these it’s easy to get down about everything. It’s easy to feel like everyday is the same and get into a depressive unhappy state. Don’t worry though! Take a look at these fifteen ways to snap out of your quarantine funk!

1. Stay Active 

It’s a known fact that staying active can help with mental health over all, and it’s no different here. During quarantine it’s easy to fall into a routine of just staying in and not moving around. This can have such a negative impact on your mental health.

Start small! Even 15 – 30 minutes of exercise can help turn your day around!


2. Get Outdoors

Who doesn’t love getting some fresh air? During quarantine we tend to think that staying inside means staying safe. It does, but walking outdoors with a mask and social distancing is just as safe! 

This is one of the best ways to brighten your mood, seeing how beautiful nature is can help you appreciate what’s around you. 


3. Maintain Your Hygiene

If you’ve ever fell into a depressive state you know how difficult it is to do some of the simple things in life. Even getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, or taking a shower seems like an impossible task. 

Sometimes you just have to force yourself, we promise you’ll feel lot better. 



4. Get Dressed Up For No Reason 

Since I’m staying home I’m not going to see anybody so there’s no need to get ready right? Wrong! Having that mentality is common during quarantine and there’s nothing wrong with having some comfy days. It’s still important to get dolled up sometimes not for anyone else, but for yourself!

5. Listen To Music

Music is a mood changer. If your feeling sad all you have to do is put on your favorite playlist and bam! Mood changed! If you’re feeling sad and you put on sad music chances are it’ll make you more sad. So make a playlist of songs that make you feel good and listen to it whenever you’re feeling down.



6. Avoid The 4 C’s

The four C’s consist of criticizing, complaining, condemning, and comparing. This doesn’t just apply to quarantine either, following this rule can work wonders in your life all the time. The pandemic can make it easy to see yourself fall into a constant cycle of negativity and this rule can help change that around. 

We constantly find ourselves doing all of these things especially during these times. Of course it’s okay sometimes, but just catch yourself when it’s becoming too frequent. 

7. Find A Quiet Space 

Depending on the type of household your in, things can be more than overwhelming. It is important that you have a safe and quiet space where you can take a break from the madness and keep your sanity! 


8. Meditate 

Meditation is an essential part of may peoples life, it helps keep them grounded, peaceful, and happy. If you’ve never meditated before there is so many guided beginners meditations you can find all over the internet. 

Meditation can be whatever you want it to be. Even if you just take a moment to silently think in your head and be grateful for the things you have. Make it your own!


9. Journal

Keeping a journal can help you remember exactly how you felt and what you went through at a certain time. Sometimes it’s important to bring ourselves back to how we felt a year, month, or even a day ago. During quarantine and this year overall it seems like bad things just keep coming every other day. 

Keeping a journal can help you revisit days that weren’t so bad and even days that were amazing. It can help you realize that tough times don’t last forever. 


10. Positive Affirmations

Sometimes we just need a little pick me up to carry us through the day. Wake up and tell yourself things like “I am beautiful, I am worthy, I am loved”. When you wake up and express those things you are manifesting that out into the universe.

What you put out in the world is what you receive so saying those things out loud or in your head not only helps you stay positive, but it can kelp bring some good karma your way!


11. Pick Up A Hobby 

Spending so much time in the house during quarantine is boring. Time to pick up a new hobby and fall in love with it! This is some of the most down time you’ll probably ever have so why not take advantage of it?

This goes hand in hand with positive affirmations. What you put out is what you receive. When you express gratitude for the things that are going right in your life, you attract good things. 

Practicing gratitude can help you realize that not everything in your life is bad. There are still good aspects shining through.


13. Do something Nice For Someone Else 

If you just can’t find it in you to do anything for yourself, try doing something for someone else. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant but it will surely make you feel better. 

Send a nice text to someone, dish out a compliment, do an act of service. Anything counts!


14. Start A Vision Board

One of the main aspects of quarantine funk is feeling like you lost your purpose. Loosing sight of your goals is something we’ve all struggled with. 

A vision board can help you get back on track. Sometimes we need to visualize a better future and set new goals. Put together a board of photos and quotes of goals you have for your future. This can help motivate you to go out there and make it happen!


15. Know That This Won’t Last Forever 

This year has been tough, there’s no denying that. It is important to remember though that the tough times don’t last forever. We are already taking steps in the right direction for a better future.

We have to remember that in order to even feel sadness, pain, or depression we’ve had to experience happiness. Having hope is so important to help us get through this. So just take a deep breathe and realize times like this will pass.
