Maroon and orange can be a scary combination to pull off, especially when you’re new to the Hokie community. But trust me when I tell you, eventually your closet will be full of it. Here are a couple tips to help you get in the Hokie spirit and wear that maroon and orange with pride. These are 10 ways to pull off burnt orange and maroon!
Not ready to show off those Hokie colors yet? Start slowly by accessorizing in maroon and orange, maybe a cool headband or necklace will do the trick.
A classic maroon dress or maybe an orange top will suffice, you don’t always have to wear the two together.
You’d be surprised how many maroon and orange prints you come across. However, proceed with caution – wear the print, don’t let the print wear you.
A fun and easy way to take a t-shirt and turn it into something trendy. (Also a great way to save money.)
Grab yourself a cheap pair of maroon or orange sneakers and throw them on for an easy way to tie in your school spirit.
A classic game day look and an easy way to show school spirit: wearing an athletic jersey. Pair it with some jeans or shorts and you not only look cute, but you’re comfy (always a plus!)
Bad hair day? Don’t want to do your makeup? Throw on your VT baseball cap and stress no more.
Who doesn’t love some funky pants? Invest in a pair of maroon or orange printed fun pants and never look back.
Of course, the easiest way to show school spirit is to hit your local bookstore and stock up on all things Virginia Tech. You can probably count, on one hand, how many items in that store don’t have either maroon or orange in them.
You know you’re a true Hokie when you can rock the maroon and orange together and scream, “Let’s go…Hokies!” through the streets.
