10 Ways To Make Your Ramen Noodles Superior
As a college student, there aren’t always meals you can make that will be quick, filling, and somewhat healthy. Ramen noodles have been a college necessity since living in the dorms with just a microwave. Which makes it just as popular when you are a senior in college trying to graduate and need a quick meal at any time of the day. You are very likely to come across the Ramen noodles section near the pasta at your local grocery store, selling for roughly 35 cents per package.
Below, I would like to share 10 ways to make your Ramen noodles superior.
1. Add an egg
Eggs with noodles are very underrated, I must say! Feel free to cook an egg whichever way you enjoy, and simply throw it into the Ramen noodles as soon as they have boiled. You can also use a poached egg to add texture and taste to your noodles. After the Ramen noodles have cooked, add American cheese and butter for a rich flavor.
To make the noodles taste even better, try adding salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your meal!
2. Add Chicken
Who doesn’t love chicken? While you can add chicken to most dishes, you can’t go wrong with adding a chicken breast to your Ramen noodles! Make sure to cook the chicken thoroughly with spices or condiments of your choice, begin slicing it into edible pieces, and finally add it into the boiled Ramen when both are complete.
Try adding seasoned salt, pepper, or vegetable seasoning to your noodles for a delicious combo!
3. Add Soy Sauce
Don’t feel like going to the grocery store but would like to add some kick into your Ramen noodles? Try adding soy sauce for a flavor boost! You can add as little or as much as you want, depending on how much you enjoy soy sauce. Soy sauce and Ramen are particularly popular among cultures. Yet, it is a simple way to add some flavor to your noodles without the hassle of purchasing other ingredients.
4. Add Cheese
Who doesn’t like cheese? It might sound a bit odd, but adding cheese to your Ramen noodles is delicious! Simply choose one of your favorite cheeses, and put your desired amount into the noodles. Boil for two minutes until the cheese is melted. Another item that mixes perfectly with the cheesy Ramen is bacon bits! Buying the packaged bacon bits is most convenient since you can throw it right into your noodles.
Make sure to add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your cheesy noodles!
5. Use Beef Broth
As a teenager, something I somehow never forgot is to add beef broth into your Ramen instead of water. As simple as it sounds, you will boil the Ramen noodles into the broth instead of water, making them have a much better taste.
If you are a chicken lover, you can also use chicken broth to substitute for water – it tastes just as good with the chicken flavored Ramen noodles!
6. Use Ingredients From Your Spice Cabinet
One of my favorite things about Ramen noodles is the mixture of spices that will make it much more appetizing. You can incorporate into your Ramen noodles, my personal favorite, a combination of soy sauce, garlic oil, Parmesan cheese, and brown sugar.
Make sure to add all of these ingredients after you have cooked your Ramen noodles!
7. Add Hot Sauce
One of the best condiments to add to your Ramen noodles is adding a hint of hot sauce. If you are a hot sauce lover like me, I add a few teaspoons. However, everyone is different, and not many people are fond of food that makes your eyes water. So, with that being said, make sure to not add too much hot sauce!
After draining the boiling water from your Ramen noodles, add any hot sauce of your choice, specifically Sriracha hot sauce!
8. Cilantro and Diced Onion
Two easy veggies to add to your Ramen noodles is diced onions and cilantro. Both are very distinct in taste but delicious in a variety of foods. Putting the onions directly into your Ramen is an option. Still, an even better option is to fry your onions while your Ramen noodles are boiling. After they are both complete, make sure to add seasoned salt and pepper!
If you are not a cilantro fan, make sure to sub it out for mint or rosemary for an extra kick to your noodles!
9. Add Peanuts and Pineapples
If you don’t have a peanut allergy, these ingredients in your Ramen noodles are a must-try! Something that doesn’t sound very appetizing, but is delicious, is adding peanuts and pineapples to your Ramen noodles after being cooked. Also, cooking your Ramen noodles in pork broth or chicken broth, instead of water, goes delicious with the peanuts.
After the Ramen noodles are finished, simply add peanuts, teriyaki sauce, pineapple chunks, and sesame seeds. One of my personal favorites is to add crushed peanuts, so the Ramen is topped with the peanut crumbs.
10. Make It Breakfast Style!
I had never seen but have heard recently from a friend to add breakfast sausage, bacon, or both to your Ramen noodles. This is one of the more difficult ways to make Ramen, yet the taste is immaculate if you are a sausage or bacon lover.
In addition to adding the sausage or bacon to your Ramen noodles, it is also well-liked to add honey and maple syrup to your Ramen as well. Since I am not a breakfast person, I am not sure if I could do the syrup. However, the bacon and sausage are delicious meats to add to your noodles!
