Your New Hangover Routine For The Morning After

It's important to have a bulletproof hangover routine plan for the morning after, with these steps, you'll have that hangover out of your system in no time.

Trying to find that perfect routine to nail any hangover the morning after is a long and grueling process full of trial and error, it can take a long time before you find the one that works for you but fear not! I have made these sacrifices so that you don’t have to and after a lot of failed attempts here we have it, the perfect routine for curing any hangover and being able to get on with your day. It won’t be easy, but together we can get there.

1. Make Sure You Eat Before Going Out

This step kinda relies on you taking some precautions before you drink any alcohol, and FYI eating is NOT cheating! Have a meal before you start drinking, the more carbs the better as this will line your stomach and absorb some alcohol. Don’t worry too much though if you don’t have a meal before you start drinking, this can be done at any point throughout the night but it does work best if you do this beforehand.

2. Have Water And Painkillers On Standby

An absolute must! Have a pint of water and some painkillers sitting by your bedside table for waking up, believe me, you’ll need it. Try to drink a glass of water between alcoholic drinks while you’re out the night before if you can as not only does alcohol severely dehydrate you, it will also help you the next morning. If you’re worried about your friends slagging you off for drinking water take a page from Kim Kardashian’s book and ask the barman to put your water into a gin glass and no-one will bat an eyelid.

3. Sweat The Hangover Out

Now I know what you’re thinking, exercise? With a hangover?! Well as much of a struggle as it may be to find the energy to do this, sweating out a hangover really does work. The first ten minutes will be rough, I won’t lie to you but once you get through that it gets much easier and you’ll notice yourself feeling better. Start slow, warm up with some stretches or yoga and try to coax yourself to move on to cardio. Try to exercise for around an hour if you can. The more you exercise you do, the better you will feel.

4. Clean Up Your Act

Once you’re done exercising, drag your butt into the shower and get yourself cleaned up. This is the most refreshing step in this routine, there’s something just so soothing about washing your hair when you’re hungover, almost like you’re washing your sore head away. The worst of your hangover should be over by now and you will notice a significant difference from when you woke up but if you’re still not feeling great then don’t worry because the best of this hangover routine comes last and it’s probably going to be the pick-me-up you need.

5. Coffee And A Big Breakfast

Ah, breakfast at last. Congratulations, if you’ve made it through the routine to breakfast then you can 100% make it through the rest of the day. Give yourself a pat on the back and tuck in to a delicious breakfast. A big fat full cooked breakfast and coffee work best in my opinion and if it’s really bad, even throw an Irn Bru into the mix for a sugar boost but whatever works for you will also do the trick. By now you should be cured and ready to face the day ahead, I bid you good luck!
