Ahh, the pain of being a girl. I think we all know the pain and awkwardness that go hand and hand when going for your first bikini wax, and although it’s not necessary, sometimes you just want a stubble-free bikini line, you know? Whether you’re a beginner or a total pro at waxing, here’s a few thoughts that have probably gone through your mind when getting your first bikini wax.

1. Is it too late to back out?

The feeling of regret sinks in as soon as you get to the waxing salon. Maybe I don’t really need this wax after all? I’m sure it can wait.

2. I hope she doesn’t judge my underwear…

I mean, I wanted to be comfortable right? But I totally can’t shake the feeling that the waxer is judging my underwear choice right now.

3. No I definitely don’t want a Brazilian wax

Why do they always try to sell this to you last minute?? Why??

4. Is it fine to make small-talk right now?

Anything to diffuse the awkwardness as I undress for this wax! What do I even talk about? Do I even tell her why I’m getting a wax?

5. Please don’t judge the amount of hair on my body right now

Okay, so I’ve missed a couple of sessions — not like I was heading to the beach any time soon. But they always say you should grow your hair out to a good length before a wax, right?

Nevermind, I change my mind. Waxing is pure torture. Who even thought this was necessary? Let’s just hope it gets less painful as it goes…

Why is this taking forever?? Isn’t the bikini line quite a small area? Do you really have to prolong the torture? For my first bikini wax- this really isn’t fun.
