During winter, cooking can be a challenge, especially if you’re looking for something that is hearty and will keep you warm. The solution? Soups. These eight warm and hearty soup recipes will not only fill you up, but they are sure to warm your belly!<\/p>\n

1. Chicken Noodle Soup<\/h2>\n

One of my absolute favourites, chicken noodle soup is a classic that will no doubt keep you warm and satisfied. The chicken is succulent and tender, the broth is rich with flavour and the egg noodles are soft and delicious. With an abundance of vegetables, this soup will curb your cravings and will no doubt be a family favourite at the dinner table.<\/p>\n

2. Minestrone Soup<\/h2>\n

Another classic warm and hearty soup is minestrone soup. This Italian soup is packed with vegetables – so you are getting your nutrients – and is full of flavour from the pepper, salt and dried herbs like oregano and thyme. Mix in the pasta or rice and you have a delicious soup that is perfect for those winter’s night.<\/p>\n

3. Pumpkin Soup<\/h2>\n

Pumpkin soup is another warm and hearty soup that is perfect for winter. It is creamy and packs a punch in terms of flavour. You can also add in some smoked paprika, which will give the soup extra depth, as well as a smoky flavour.<\/p>\n

4. Veggie Loaded Lentil Soup<\/h2>\n

As the name suggests, this soup is packed with vegetables, including potatoes and butternut squash. The lentils help make the soup hearty, and the rosemary assists in creating a beautiful flavour. If you’re not a big fan of kale, you can use spinach instead, but the result are exactly the same: a warm and delicious soup that will fill you up!<\/p>\n

6. Creamy Chicken And Mushroom Soup<\/h2>\n

Warm and hearty soups are the ultimate comfort food, and this soup is oh so comforting. Creamy and packed with flavour from the bay leaf, dried thyme, and parsley leaves, the creamy chicken and mushroom soup will lull you into a peaceful sense of comfort and coziness during those cold winter’s nights.<\/p>\n

7. Borscht<\/h2>\n

Warm and hearty soups can be found in every culture, and borscht is one such soup. A statement of Russian and Ukrainian cuisine, borscht is made from beetroot, which gives the soup it’s famous red colour. Besides beetroot, borscht has various other vegetables, including potatoes, and also has shredded meat. Borscht is almost always served with sour cream (smetana in Russian and Ukrainian) and is topped with fresh dill.<\/p>\n

8. Bigos<\/h2>\n

Another warm and hearty soup is bigos, a traditional Polish dish. In English, this soup is known as hunter’s stew and is made of chopped meat that is stewed with sauerkraut and fresh cabbage. Bigos has a lot of flavour from the caraway seed, bay leaf, cayenne pepper, and red wine. This soup is wholesome and delicious and is sure to warm you up during winter.<\/p>\n
