With summer fast approaching, there’s one thing you absolutely need to get sorted when it comes to your wardrobe: swimwear. Choosing the right swimsuit style should be a personal decision for us girls, as it all depends on the style to flaunt our best features and flatter our problem areas. These are just five swimsuit styles you must try this summer that are all super trendy and<\/em> flattering.<\/p>\n

Belted swimsuits<\/h2>\n

If you’re more into posing poolside than taking a dip, the belted swimsuit is the one for you. The belt adds a stylish twist to swimwear, making it more of a fashion statement than just something to go swimming in. Plus, the buckle distracts from any lumps and bumps and the belt itself clinches your waist, accentuating a beautiful hourglass figure. There are plenty of options out there with straps, but if you go strapless, you’ll be channelling a more classic vintage look.<\/p>\n

Pin-up Chic<\/h2>\n

The classic 50s pin-up style bikini has well and truly cemented itself in the 21st century, having featuring on the catwalks and in stores every summer for years now. This style is perfect for curvier girls and petite girls, as the high waisted swimsuit style focuses on narrowing the waist and elongating the legs. The structured bikini top is also ideal for ladies with bigger busts who are concerned about having support while swimming. Why not go full vintage and choose a design with frills, polka dots, gingham (a very trendy pattern for summer 2019) or flowers!<\/p>\n

Animal print<\/h2>\n

From giraffe to snake, animal prints have gone from tacky to trendy this summer. They’ve been all over the spring\/summer catwalks, and they’re just as fashionable as a swimsuit style. You don’t have to be slim to try this trend either, because whether you’re wearing a one piece, two piece or tiny string bikini, the boldness of the print and colours take centre stage. Leopard print, in particular, has been literally everywhere, from Instagram to Pinterest, so you won’t want to miss out on this trend – and you won’t be missed either!<\/p>\n

Stripes, stripes, stripes<\/h2>\n

You probably didn’t hear it here first, because stripes are THE summer trend everyone is talking about. Shopping for a striped swimsuit is like going to a candy store: the colours, the thickness of the stripes, vertical or horizontal… there’s just too much to choose from! Stick to vertical stripes to create the illusion of a longer, slimmer body, or if you want to emphasise a smaller bust, go horizontal. If you’re into classic styles, pick monochrome stripes, or get creative with colours for a summer Popsicle vibe. Striped swimsuits really are one of the most versatile styles for every girl.<\/p>\n

Crinkle vibes<\/h2>\n

Some call it crinkle, some call it crunch… whatever you call it, it’s the ruched fabric style that is proving to be increasingly popular this summer, having almost come out of nowhere. This one is a celeb favourite, seen on the likes of Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora. You might think the ruched style is only for petite girls, but think again: the stretchy material fits like a glove and is so flattering. There are so many styles, you can actually pair a couple of trends from this list by going for a belted crinkle suit, or mix leopard print and crinkle! If you’re voluptuous like Kim K or more athletic like Dua, these gorgeous celebs prove that the style looks amazing on any shape. It’s also a really soft, comfortable material so it’s perfect for swimming, and looks ultra chic for poolside sunbathing.<\/p>\n
