You could simply say hello to a stranger and you would at least have an indication of what kind of person they are. This, however, often always happens with gay stereotypes. We all have our expectations of what a gay person is like and what we expect them to like, the usual \u2018myths\u2019. With that said, here are ten gay myths that will blow you away.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>1. Sports<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For some reason there\u2019s a huge gay myth that says we don&#8217;t like sport. I will admit most gay people aren\u2019t so keen with it, however does that mean every gay hates it? Take Jason Collins, he\u2019s a famous basketball player and he\u2019s gay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>2. Shopping<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I love it when a girl in a teen movie says to the gay character \u201comg we definitely need to go shopping together.\u201d Yes, most gays do catch their eyes on an item on clothing that their BFF will adore. However, the way some of us gays dress&#8230; Well, you would be surprised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>3. Heavy Drinkers<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Most people think they\u2019re going to have a great night when they\u2019re going out with their gay friend because there\u2019s a myth that gays can party all night. I\u2019m sorry but you\u2019re wrong. From experience, I can be off to bed after 1 shot of tequila and a double vodka. Gays do love a good movie night as well. Gosh!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>4. Gay Relationships Don&#8217;t Last<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is common for a straight person to say they were in a relationship with their ex for 3 years and for a gay person to say they were with theirs for 3 months. But, that doesn&#8217;t mean gays can\u2019t do relationships. That just means every guy they date just aren\u2019t the right ones, and this may mean they go through a guy every month but with how fast time is going. Who wouldn\u2019t?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>5. Being Gay Is A Choice<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The one question I hate and most definitely is a myth is \u201cdid you always know you were gay or was it a choice?\u201d A choice? Are you for real? I don\u2019t understand why someone would choose it, I mean, I\u2019m proud of who I am but gay people don\u2019t just deicide to switch sexualites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>6. Every Gay Man Is Girly<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Why do people think every gay guy wants to be a girl? The reason why a guy is gay is because they want to date men\u2026 Right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>7. They Only Have &#8216;Girl&#8217; Friends<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is common for a gay to a girl as their BFF, it\u2019s just something I don\u2019t even think science can come up for a theory for. With that said, when a male speaks to us gays we don\u2019t just want to get in bed with them, we can actually have a normal conversation that doesn\u2019t need to include anything \u2018gay.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>8. There&#8217;s Always A Man And Woman Figure<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a gay relationship people often ask \u201cwho\u2019s the top and who\u2019s the bottom?\u201d This question is so out of date now that in most relationships, even straight ones both partners take their turns pleasuring one another in whichever way they want. It isn\u2019t even about who is who it\u2019s about what somebody prefers and feels comfortable with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>9. Being Gay Can Be Cured<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018Insert laughing emoji\u2019. This shouldn\u2019t even be a myth because you are who you are and no one should try and cure you for being you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>10. Gay People Are So Lucky<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Many straight people say to me \u201cyou are so lucky, you don\u2019t ever have to worry about getting a girl pregnant.\u201d I honestly think this is the dumbest thing anyone has ever said to me and I\u2019m going to leave it at that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everyone hears myths and theories on gay people and that will never change. Instead, we can educate people.
