That is a terrible stereotype that needs to stop because I don\u2019t want to be expected to come out with some mesmerising eye makeup on every night out. Sometimes it can be the bane of our lives but for some reason, we\u2019ll still put it on. But before you say anything, we do it for ourselves, not for anyone else. It can make us feel good even if we\u2019re not skilled in it. Here are 10 things you\u2019ll relate to if, like me, you\u2019re terrible at makeup.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/intro-4.jpg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>1. \u201cWtf is contouring?\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Contouring is a mystery. If you\u2019re terrible at makeup, chances are that you\u2019ll have no idea what it is or where it goes. It\u2019s a magical mystery that you know you\u2019ll never master, but you\u2019re okay with that because it looks too complicated to even try. It has something to do with shadows to make yourself look different but otherwise, who knows? I\u2019ll stick to my 2D-looking, pale skin thanks.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>2. Your eyeliner keeps growing until it\u2019s even.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Eyeliner is a nightmare until you master it. You\u2019ll be there for hours trying to make the wings look even. If you\u2019re terrible at makeup, by the time you start to give up, you\u2019ll be back to your goth days with three inches thick eyeliner surrounding your eyes. Then it\u2019s time to wipe it off and start all over again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/eyeliner.jpg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>3. \u201cWhat is this brush for again?\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Too. Many. Brushes! Angled ones, fluffy ones, tiny ones, what are they for?! Just stick to using your fingers or to a small set of brushes that don\u2019t really work but are acceptable enough for you to pass as normal. Why would you spend so much money on so many brushes when one or two does the job of about ten?<\/p>\n<h2>4. Your eyes only have one colour on them because using more is just not in your skill set.<\/h2>\n<p>One or two eye-shadow colours at a time. Any more and you\u2019re just inviting trouble. Smokey eyes? What\u2019s that? Rainbow eyes? Who needs them? It\u2019s far too complicated and takes up too much time. Just nope!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/eyes.jpeg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>5. Highlighters are used for revision.<\/h2>\n<p>Now in my opinion, a highlighter is what you use to highlight a word on paper, not something you put on your face. Who comes up with all this s**t? If the light doesn\u2019t fall on me \u2018perfectly\u2019 who cares? Why should I force it?<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>6. You don\u2019t like spending money on makeup, especially if it\u2019s over \u00a310.<\/h2>\n<p>Budget makeup might not always work but what does it matter when you don\u2019t work well either? Use equipment that is as bad as you, it\u2019s cheaper. If you\u2019re terrible at makeup you just can\u2019t be bothered with it. I\u2019d rather buy a takeaway or two than spend over \u00a320 on one thing. It\u2019s insane!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/money.jpg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>7. Eyebrows are too complicated.<\/h2>\n<p>The shape, the tail, it\u2019s all too much! There\u2019s something about angles and how it lines up with your nose? Something about sisters not twins? What kind of language is this? See, now, this is why I had a fringe nearly all my life. Saved me the hassle.<\/p>\n<h2>8. You have a favourite lipstick that you stick with and that\u2019s usually it.<\/h2>\n<p>Lipstick can be pretty easy. But if you\u2019re terrible at makeup then you usually just stick to a few regular colours. There\u2019s no point in trying a two-toned look otherwise you\u2019d look like a clown. Just stick with what you know and that\u2019s all you need. But be careful with red lipstick because that s**t stains!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/lipstick-1.jpg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>9. \u201cYou look ill, are you okay?\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Just because I don\u2019t smother myself in products doesn\u2019t mean that I\u2019m not wearing any, okay? I\u2019m not ill, I\u2019m perfectly fine! I don\u2019t look like other people because I\u2019m incredibly pale and like it. Leave me be with my light makeup!<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>10. You spend about 5 minutes daily, 5 hours if you actually try.<\/h2>\n<p>One good thing at being terrible at makeup, is that it doesn\u2019t take up much of your time. You stick with what you know and you get good at it. It\u2019s when you start experimenting that things go horribly wrong. What usually takes ten minutes will take up to two hours! Know your limitations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukinterns.society19.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/time-2.jpg\" class=\"mfp-image\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Being terrible at makeup isn\u2019t all bad. It\u2019s quick and simple and helps you love who you are because you can\u2019t cover it up. As much as you might envy someone\u2019s glamorous eye makeup on occasion, you know that you spent less than half the time on your whole face than they did on just one eye.
