You\u2019ve got your timetable and hopefully a couple of pens. It’s time for uni, again. Decor wise you might have a couple of posters on the wall and your clothes still waiting to be hung up, lying in a suitcase by the wardrobe. Whatever you\u2019ve got going on, there are a couple of items that are essential for your\u00a0uni\u00a0room that every student should have. This list of items\u00a0are\u00a0to provide comfort, individuality, practicality and just plain fun to your\u00a0uni\u00a0room! Plus a couple of essential student specific items… Uni houses have had who knows how many other students living in them before you. You want to make this room your own this year. Make your room feel like a home and not a room in a\u00a0strangers\u00a0house. Check out these essential\u00a0uni\u00a0room items every student should have.<\/p>\n

For the elements<\/h2>\n

A uni house can be cold\u00a0af\u00a0in the winter. Using these items you can personalise your room, keeping your individual style, whilst ensuring you don\u2019t have to sleep in seven pairs of socks\u00a0every night.<\/p>\n

\n<\/h6>\n

A rug is pretty essential, especially if your room doesn\u2019t have a carpet. This is because they can add a lot of warmth to the room. Now rugs can be expensive but they don\u2019t have to be. Check out this recycled rug<\/a> on amazon for under \u00a310!<\/p>\n

A bed throw \/ blanket is another great why to style up your room whilst having those essential practical qualities too. They have some thermos throws available at Dunelm<\/a> that are also super soft.<\/p>\n

Make it yours<\/h2>\n

Uni can be stressful. Some essential\u00a0uni\u00a0room items every student should have should be a few that contribute to making your room personalised.<\/p>\n

These can include pictures and posters. If you don\u2019t know about the app, Free Prints, they do 45 free prints uploaded from your phone\u00a0and delivered to your house every month.\u00a0So\u00a0you can have lots of memories stuck on the walls if you\u2019re into that.<\/p>\n

If you would prefer not to have thousands of your mates faces staring back at you each day, maybe try getting some posters from movies or bands that you like. Most\u00a0uni\u2019s\u00a0do a couple of poster sales throughout the year. But you can always go check out HMV or even some vintage shops stock cool posters.<\/p>\n

Now this may sound simple but lights. Whether it\u2019s using lamps or candles, make your student room bright. This will keep your room cheerful even in winter. Hopefully your room should come with a lamp or two… but check\u00a0out these salt rock candle holders<\/a> that are really cute. These can add ambience to the dullest of spaces.<\/p>\n

Organiser<\/h2>\n

Maybe you aren\u2019t a very organised person, but at\u00a0uni\u00a0sometimes\u00a0its\u00a0essential aka maybe for your work? Yeah… These are a few essential\u00a0uni\u00a0room items to help you stay on top even after a\u00a0four day\u00a0hangover.<\/p>\n

Hooks. Now some\u00a0uni\u00a0rooms can be\u00a0notoriously\u00a0small. These door hooks from Ikea<\/a> for under \u00a310 have multiple benefits. Firstly, they don\u2019t need screwing in, so that\u2019s a\u00a0bonus for a\u00a0uni\u00a0room.\u00a0Secondly,\u00a0they are great way of organising your coats and such that you don\u2019t have room for in your drawers. They give you a little bit more room as well, plus your coats and such won\u2019t get as\u00a0dusty\u00a0as they would\u00a0stuffed\u00a0under your bed.<\/p>\n

Desk organiser. Maybe you only own one pen? That\u2019s good enough for me. These desk organisers are the fastest way to gain access to your stationary when you need it. Like when you are suddenly inspired with a perfect one liner for\u00a0your\u00a0dissertation. Check this one out this one at Wilko<\/a> for under \u00a35!<\/p>\n

A file for\u00a0uni\u00a0work and documents is another essential item for your uni room. After three or more years you accumulate a lot of crap.\u00a0Whether\u00a0it\u2019s work or essential and\u00a0official\u00a0documents. You need a specific place to keep these documents so that you always know where they are when you need them.<\/p>\n

Essential student specific…<\/h2>\n

A\u00a0vom\u00a0bin. Don\u2019t buy into those mesh bins,\u00a0baaaad\u00a0idea. And maybe put a plastic bag inside your bin too… it\u2019s much easier and quicker\u00a0clean up\u00a0process.<\/p>\n

A chair of\u00a0doom. Aka a clothes chair. Its organised in a way…? They are all in one place at least.<\/p>\n

\n<\/h6>\n

Door\u00a0stop. Make friends and air out your room when it gets overwhelmed by the smell of sweat, pizza and booze.<\/p>\n
