If you\u2019re searching for something to do this weekend, here are eight of the best Scottish beaches where you can breathe in a little sea air and go for a dip in the ocean, if you\u2019re brave enough. These are some of the best beaches in Scotland!<\/p>\n<h2>1. St Ninian\u2019s Isle, Shetland<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/St+Ninian%E2%80%99s+beach\/@59.9695492,-1.3433713,15z\/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x489e9b1d7cb05785:0x379518084dc30a3d!2sSt+Ninians+Isle!3b1!8m2!3d59.9713604!4d-1.3507225!3m4!1s0x489e9b20ebcdf8ab:0x60b59e0d770e4e39!8m2!3d59.9712503!4d-1.3304266\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This stunning stretch of golden sand is the only thing connecting St Ninian\u2019s to the UK mainland. It\u2019s the largest tombolo in the UK, and arguably the prettiest at the same time. Plus, not only do you get the ocean to paddle in on one side, but on two sides of you. Add in the beautiful surrounding view of seacliffs and the nearby isle, and you\u2019ve got a perfect day out.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>2. West Sands, St Andrews<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/West+Sands\/@56.3582063,-2.821661,14.82z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4886582b781bba11:0x4325166a2dbf5d27!8m2!3d56.3555619!4d-2.808676\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the edge of the historic St Andrews, this Scottish beach looks out over the North Sea for a breath-taking view. The beach is bordered by the Open Championship golf course, if you\u2019re a fan, but it\u2019s just as much fun to go for a barefoot stroll at the edge of the water. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Camusdarach, Mallaig<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Camusdarach+Beach\/@56.9582973,-5.851275,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x488c032e656d946d:0x2fd1e610704faeb3!8m2!3d56.9582973!4d-5.8490862\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Right on the west coast of Scotland, Camusdarach beach is a small, hidden stretch of white sand and turquoise water. With views across to the Isle of Skye and water shallow enough to dip your toes in, this beach is a Scottish paradise. It\u2019s fairly sheltered, and far enough away from any kind of city or busy town that you can truly relax while admiring the view.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Langamull, Isle of Mull<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Langamull+Beach\/@56.6040331,-6.269334,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x488b8d98c4942345:0xa8698207ea3f69e1!8m2!3d56.6040331!4d-6.2671454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This beach is almost as far away from civilisation as you can get. Situated on the north coast of the Isle of Mull, it\u2019s maybe not the easiest beach in Scotland to get to, but it\u2019s delightfully quiet and hosts spectacular views out to Rum on a clear day. A twenty-minute walk to and from the beach means you\u2019ll want to take a picnic with you to enjoy while you\u2019re there.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Mellon Udrigle, Achnasheen<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Mellon+Udrigle+Beach\/@57.9021877,-5.5593555,15.22z\/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x488e14b8f6ab3e53:0x3a83f9a0277df22c!2sMellon+Udrigle,+Achnasheen+IV22+2NT!3b1!8m2!3d57.899992!4d-5.56594!3m4!1s0x488e14c6c5ddb1d5:0x70800a134ab0c29b!8m2!3d57.9020158!4d-5.5582774\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mellon Udrigle, despite being tucked away in a corner of the Highlands, is beautiful expanse of white sand which looks out across the water to an incredible view of the mountains in the distance. The beach is the perfect place to escape to, whether you need a day to reset or a weekend trip somewhere off the beaten track. This is one of the beaches in Scotland we love most!<\/p>\n<h2>6. Ayr Beach<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Ayr+Beach\/@55.4549857,-4.6532894,15z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m7!3m6!1s0x4889d689f11ca9fd:0x9396bc28db7dd6f7!5m1!1s2018-09-24!8m2!3d55.452863!4d-4.6446292\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A reasonably short train journey from Glasgow, Ayr is home to one of Scotland\u2019s longest and prettiest beaches. There are plenty of nearby shops and cafes for you to turn the trip into a full day out, and the views of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran are well worth the journey.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>7. Sandwood Bay, Lairg<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Sandwood+Bay+Beach\/@58.5383923,-5.059977,17z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x48903350f28bce17:0x3d3919cd599dcbed!8m2!3d58.5383923!4d-5.059977\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sandwood Bay is one of the country\u2019s wildest and most secluded beaches, with nearly 1.5 miles of pink-tinged sand and the impressive sea stack Am Buachaille watching over it from the ocean. It\u2019s a decent walk to get to, which is what makes the beach one of Scotland\u2019s most untouched. Sand dunes behind the beach make the perfect spot to stop for a picnic, or a spot of wild camping if you fancy a slightly longer visit.<\/p>\n<h2>8. Oldshoremore, Lairg<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Oldshoremore+Beach\/@58.4784151,-5.0906604,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x4891cd3f3c78211b:0xe5acb53c6d038c31!8m2!3d58.4784151!4d-5.0884717\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re willing to brave the cold water and go for a swim on the Scottish coast, Oldshoremore is where you\u2019ll want to head for your next day out. The glittering water is still and inviting, and the beach stretches right along the bay for an impressive view \u2013 and a decent length of walk, if you want.<\/p>\n<h2>9. Durness Beach<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Durness+Beach\/@58.5634187,-4.7389798,14.82z\/data=!4m8!1m2!2m1!1sdurness+beach!3m4!1s0x0:0x47e3ba563047d553!8m2!3d58.5662773!4d-4.7360677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Slightly nearer the top of the country than the rest of our list, Durness Beach sits on the very north coast of Scotland with views out across the North Sea. Due to its location, it\u2019s one of Scotland\u2019s most untouched beaches. A journey out to Durness will leave you with almost an entire stretch of white sand to yourself. It\u2019s just worth a check of the weather forecast before you head out!<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/h6>\n<h2>10. North Donmouth<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/North+Donmouth+Beach\/@57.1785402,-2.0766534,13.19z\/data=!4m8!1m2!2m1!1sbeach!3m4!1s0x0:0x990adcbcb70bf453!8m2!3d57.1785406!4d-2.0766521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lying just on the edge of Aberdeen, North Donmouth is a super accessible beach which sits just north of Donmouth Local Nature Reserve. It\u2019s a slightly more private section of Aberdeen\u2019s coastline, but a short trip down to Aberdeen Beach rewards you with a selection of cafes and restaurants and a children\u2019s play area.<\/p>\n<h5>What beaches in Scotland did we miss?
