Glasgow Caledonian University, despite being small, is one of the most international universities in Scotland, and because of this it can often seem like there are a lot of differences between the students \u2013 we’ve all had our different experiences and get to share them with each other at University. On the other hand, however, there are definitely some experiences that we share together… and how better to articulate those all too relatable moments than with some gifs?<\/p>\n
It doesn\u2019t quite look how you expected it to\u2026 we know. But hey, at least it\u2019s super close to the University, and the people you meet in Caledonian Court are worth putting up with the lack of couch or living room!<\/p>\n
Yep, it\u2019s pretty nerve-wracking. That\u2019s the same wherever you go, whether you’re at Glasgow Caledonian University or Imperial College in London.<\/p>\n
Why are they numbered (or lettered) so badly! Who designed this system for naming the building and classrooms? \u201cGeorge Moore\u201d \u2013 how am I supposed to remember which building that is?! Your only hope is swallowing your pride frantically messaging the class group chat for help\u2026 sometimes it really does come to desperate measures.<\/p>\n
Excuse me, we aren\u2019t friends. You can head right back over to the West End and leave the centre for those of us at Glasgow Caledonian University. (That said, some of them are actually a pretty cool bunch of people, so don\u2019t be too fast to send them over to another table).<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re planning on a group study sessions right around lunch time, I hate to break it to you, but you\u2019re going to struggle. Just wait until exam season pops up, you\u2019ve got no chance. Time to head up to floor 4\u2026 study session becomes \u2018silent\u2019 study session *sigh*.<\/p>\n
The only downside of living in a relatively small city, with one main city centre. If your lecturer decides to go on a night out, there\u2019s a pretty high chance you\u2019ll spot them in the club. Everyone at Glasgow Caledonian heads to the same bars and nightclubs… even the lecturers. Time to decide between running to the bathroom or trying your best to make drunk small-talk!<\/p>\n
The thing about Caledonian Court is that you know everyone there. So that walk of shame back to your room in the morning really is quite terrifying\u2026 time to speed-walk into your building and just keep your fingers crossed that Jenny from your Monday morning class doesn\u2019t spot you on her way out!<\/p>\n
Why did they open that one at the bus station, it\u2019s far to close to be safe! How am I supposed to avoid temptation like that?<\/p>\n
What\u2019s even the point of making it all the way to Uni, ready to go to every one of my classes today, if I can\u2019t even scan in for my attendance. I might as well just go home!<\/p>\n
It might feel like we constantly want to go home, but when it comes to actually leaving our uni friends behind after sitting through all those exams, we\u2019d actually rather stay. I guess Glasgow Caledonian University really does start to feel like home.<\/p>\n
