The expectations of beach hair are always too high, the wavy golden locks you expect to have coming out of the sea just never happen. The reality is a sticky mess, usually ending up in a bun on top of your head, so we have come up with the best summer hair styles that will endure a day at the beach, (sea and all), keep you cool and will still look super pretty!<\/p>\n

1) Braids<\/h2>\n

There are so many combinations of braids that you can try. Start out by mastering the basics, there are tons of tutorials online – and don’t think because they’re basic they’re boring! A simple plait is perfect when trying to achieve a laid back, effortless beachy look, and they make sure all your hair is secured back off your face. Take a look at this inspo:<\/p>\n

Once you’re ready to move onto something a little more complicated, experiment with your braids! Try French plaits, fishtail plaits, double dutch braid, the list is endless! Have a look at these pictures:<\/p>\n

2) Buns<\/h2>\n

There are so many summer hair styles to try out! Space buns, messy buns, knots; again these are all a case of practising and perfecting and finding out what works for your type of beach day! If you’re active, surfing and playing beach volleyball, then a tight knot will be for you, but if you’re one for lazing on your sun lounger, reading a book for most of the day then a messy bun would suit that kind of day! 3)Braids and buns<\/h2>\n

If you’re loving both buns and plaits then why not combine them? These are perfect for beach parties as they’re funky and look really intricate even though they’re easy to do! There are some pretty looks to try and here are our favourites:<\/p>\n

4) Accessories<\/h2>\n

Want to make your hairstyle part of your outfit? Then add some hair accessories. They can work for an up-do or when your hair is down. Try a cool scarf to pull your hair back off your face or wrap it around your bun or pony tail. Or how about a floral head band to get you in the summer mood? 5) Half up half down<\/h2>\n

The perfect way to keep your beachy waves, whilst having your hair neatly tied off your face. Combine it with any of the trend above for a quirky look. Even a simple pony tail looks cute! The bun looks cool and never takes that much effort to achieve!<\/p>\n

6) Pony tail<\/h2>\n

Pony tails can be so versatile, you can mix them up as much as you’d like. Opt for a normal pony, or try wrapping a piece of hair around it to hide the bobble. For more of a relaxed look, pull strands of hair loose and have it cascading over your shoulder.<\/p>\n

7) Hair rings<\/h2>\n

If you want to try something really different for your summer hair styles then try hair rings! They’re a huge trend this year and look so unique. They’re actually really simple to put in too, just hook them into the strands of your braids. They can take you through from day to night if you’re heading out after a beach day!
