The honeymoon period of a relationship is generally marked by exploring everything you have in common and celebrating that. The honeymoon period ends when you start to notice things you don\u2019t have in common, and perhaps when you start to notice things you don\u2019t love about your partner. Couples survive the honeymoon period by understanding and accepting that nobody is perfect, but their partner is pretty damn close. Or they decide they don\u2019t want to be a spinster with thirty cats so decide that Bob from the office will do for the time being.<\/p>\n

Be Playful<\/strong><\/p>\n

Relationships are fun and having fun and playing games with your partner is one of the first things that happens in relationships. You get little inside jokes and enjoy their company when they\u2019re being fun.<\/p>\n

Be Silly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Silly-ness in a relationship, I think, is also an essential. Perhaps it shows a different side to your partner or is nice to be a little bit silly after you\u2019ve had a long and stressful day at the office.<\/p>\n

Be Chatty<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes, people just like to talk. When you first start a relationship, you want to learn everything about your partner. Keep learning! Ask them questions and ell them stories, keep talking and keep learning. It will be an everlasting honeymoon, the more and more you have to say to them.<\/p>\n

Be Sexy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your partner will be attracted to you. It\u2019s one of the reasons they wanted to be with you. Make yourself feel sexy and show them how you feel. You don\u2019t have to do it for them, be sexy for yourself \u2013 but include them.<\/p>\n

Be Romantic<\/strong><\/p>\n

Romance shouldn\u2019t die in a relationship. It\u2019s very easy to be romantic for your partner and is something you should do continuously throughout your relationship. It could be as simple as cooking them a nice dinner after a long day at work. Or listening to them whine about Susan from the office (who is a complete cow). Just by being there and listening or having little gestures you can show your partner how much you love them.<\/p>\n

Be Inviting<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have a lot of stuff happening in your life, then invite your partner to join. You might not think they\u2019ll enjoy it, but even so they will be happy they were invited and might go along to support you. It\u2019s nice to be included and everyone loves to be asked to stuff.<\/p>\n

Be Accommodating <\/strong><\/p>\n

You like this person, if you\u2019re at this stage in the relationship then you\u2019re probably exclusive. Accommodate your partner in your life! Make space for them to sit on your sofa, introduce them to your friends, your parents. You want your partner to feel welcome in your life, so make them welcome.<\/p>\n

Be Level-Headed <\/strong><\/p>\n

The honeymoon period is such a wonderful time of new experiences and mushy love. But be level headed and prepared because the honeymoon period doesn\u2019t last forever and if you\u2019re serious in this relationship, then you want it to survive. Therefore, you need to be ready for when the mush ends and the real-world returns.<\/p>\n

Be Open<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be open with your partner: tell them how you\u2019re feeling, tell them what you\u2019re thinking. By being open you won\u2019t notice the \u2018periods\u2019 of the relationships change so much. You\u2019ll be happy about where you are in your relationship and confident that they know what you\u2019re thinking and feeling. Try and see if your partner is willing to share as well, maybe they won\u2019t be as open as you are but will still talk when it matters.<\/p>\n

Be Happy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most important thing in any relationship is that both you and your partner are happy. Do what makes you happy, don\u2019t change and be there for them. You\u2019ll make it through the honeymoon period and far beyond if you are both happy.<\/p>\n
