As wonderful as it sounds, being a student isn’t always partying and going to gigs.\u00a0 Unlike some, we don’t have an endless supply of money, so it can be challenging to save at times!\u00a0 If you have a part time job, great! However, tying not to spend all your wages on nights out and shoes can be difficult! Read on to find out tips on how to save money as a student! 1. Saving Account<\/h2>\n

This is the very first thing you should do! Go to your local bank or credit union and open a separate savings account! It will be harder to take money out of this account, as opposed to your debit account!<\/p>\n

2. Budget<\/h2>\n

Step back in time to Junior Cert Business Studies and design a budget based on your income! Basically you will be\u00a0allocating money to each aspect of your life!<\/p>\n

3. Pack It Up<\/h2>\n

Instead of going to a caf\u00e9 or to\u00a0your uni canteen for lunch, bring your own!\u00a0 Plan lunch with your friends and have a picnic in the rare Irish sun!<\/p>\n

4. Bus Glamour<\/h2>\n

I’m aware that public transport is affordable, however if you’re really trying to scrip on cash, skip that daily bus and walk!\u00a0 Every little bit counts, and two euros every day could save you a lot of money!<\/p>\n

5. Compare The Markets<\/h2>\n

If you’re broke af, but still\u00a0want to stay up to date with the current\u00a0trends, compare different stores.\u00a0 For example,\u00a0have a look\u00a0on the Topshop website, then pop into Pennys and scout for\u00a0a similar item!\u00a0Chic\u00a0as well as cheap!<\/p>\n

6. Do It Yourself<\/h2>\n

Instead of dining out with your bffs, why not suggest a dinner party, where\u00a0each guest bring their own dish? You can practise your culinary skills as\u00a0well as save\u00a0some\u00a0cash!<\/p>\n

7. Clothes Swap<\/h2>\n

If you can’t afford a new outfit for a night out, have a clothes swap with some friends! Trade a pair of denim jeans for your\u00a0friends sequin top! No\u00a0money needed at all!<\/p>\n

8. Downgrade Your\u00a0Shopping<\/h2>\n

Let’s be honest, at this stage you are literally broke af, so instead of doing your weekly shop in Dunnes Stores or Tesco,\u00a0try Lidl or Aldi for inexpensive deals on\u00a0similar items.<\/p>\n
