Being in one of the greatest cities is amazing and you should really take advantage of everything that the city has to offer you, but here are some things you need to clue up on for your first year at the University of East London.<\/p>\n<h2>1. It\u2019s very easy to get isolated and feel lonely<\/h2>\n<p>Even though you may be studying in one of the best and biggest cities in the world.<\/p>\n<h2>2. You\u2019re going to realise that you pay probably triple than uni\u2019s elsewhere on nights out<\/h2>\n<p>For tickets, drinks, ubers, etc. And this is just because you\u2019re in London.<\/p>\n<h2>3. The SU bar may be small&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>&#8230;but if you go there with the right people, you will always have a blast.<\/p>\n<h2>4. The type of flatmates you get is based on your luck<\/h2>\n<p>Just always be considerate.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Whenever another Londoner asks you what university you go to, you will always hesitate to say East London<\/h2>\n<p>But hey &#8211; own it!<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>6. As much as you try and convince yourself you won\u2019t leave coursework until last minute, that\u2019s not going to work<\/h2>\n<p>And you will spend the night before in the library frantically trying to finish off that essay.<\/p>\n<h2>7. Most of the time, university is not the place for relationships.<\/h2>\n<h2>8. The people you met at freshers, you\u2019re never going to talk to them again.<\/h2>\n<h2>9. Scheduled fire alarms every Thursday at midday are the worst<\/h2>\n<p>Especially if you went out the night before.<\/p>\n<h2>10. If you were lucky enough to get a room in the east buildings with your kitchen window facing the dock then you have basically won at life.<\/h2>\n<h2>11. Your food and your dishes will spontaneously go missing and never be seen again<\/h2>\n<p>No matter who your flatmates are.<\/p>\n<h2>12. Even though you might miss half of your lectures, you can still pass the year and do well<\/h2>\n<p>Only if you\u2019re determined and submit all your work in.<\/p>\n<h2>13. \u2018Pizza on Demand\u2019 is the best place to order pizza<\/h2>\n<p>You can\u2019t even argue with me on this.<\/p>\n<h2>14. Getting groceries delivered will be your new favourite thing<\/h2>\n<p>Rather than making the trek to Asda and bringing back eleven shopping bags.<\/p>\n<h2>15. You are going to make some of the best friends at university<\/h2>\n<p>And will stay friends with them for life.<\/p>\n<h2>16. If you are bored and have nothing to do, just take a walk and explore London<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s always so much to see.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>17. If you manage to lock yourself out of your room, a laminate sheet of paper can do wonders<\/h2>\n<p>Just jam it repeatedly in-between the lock and the door.<\/p>\n<h2>18. Stay away from the food at the canteen<\/h2>\n<p>Just stay away &#8211; honestly.<\/p>\n<h2>19. If you decide to go to the boat party, chances are you\u2019ll end up outside chain-smoking all night.<\/h2>\n<h2>20. If you\u2019re new to London, the city may feel overwhelming at times, but once you get used to it, there\u2019s no better place to be.<\/h2>\n<p>All the shops you can imagine, every single cuisine of food, every club and artist comes to London. You can pretty much do anything here, make the most of it.<\/p>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h5>Are you excited for your first year at the University of East London?
