Why The Fab 5 From Queer Eye Give Us Hope For Humanity

The reboot of Queer Eye has introduced us to the new Fab 5 by the names of Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Tan France, and Bobby Berk. Their reality TV series focuses on upgrading and improving the lives of men (and women!) to create a better life for them. There are a lot of reasons why they are amazing people, but here are the reasons why the Fab 5 from Queer Eye give us hope for humanity.

They Actually Care

During a reality TV series, it’s very simple to tell if the person is doing a good deed for the right reasons. The men of Queer Eye are definitely carrying out selfless acts for the benefit of other people. With every episode, and with every life they have altered they do it with passion, determination, and hard work. You can tell they actually care about the people who they meet and the lives that they change, just by their facial expressions at the end.

They Pay Attention To The Needs Of Others

It is very difficult to find someone who pays sole attention to you and actually wants to help you. Most episodes from Queer Eye delve into serious topics surrounding the life of the people involved, and the Fab 5 try their hardest to listen and respond in an appropriate manner.

Whether it’s Karamo Brown helping you defeat your demons or Bobby Berk upgrading your living environment, they go by the needs and wants of the person. They could easily put on a facade and give everyone the bare minimum, but they go above and beyond.

They Make Everyone Feel Safe And Welcome

The Fab 5 are aware that change can be a scary thing, so whenever they are prepared to change someone’s life, they reassure them completely and remind them that there is nothing to be scared about. And by the end of the episode, just the simple fact that they have helped these people so much reminds us, the audience, that they are actually such nice and caring people.

From their first ‘Hello’ to last ‘Goodbye’, the people whose lives they have changed are safe and so happy.

They Are Always So Excited

No matter what they’re getting themselves into, the Fab 5 are always so excited about the next task and who they’re going to meet. As much as they are changing the lives of people in the USA, their lives are being changed just by small interactions, as well.

Although episodes of Queer Eye are usually under an hour, we don’t see everything that’s aired. They spend a few days altering the lives of people and who knows what other conversations and activities they are doing to aid someone. It’s not about the show Queer Eye for them, but instead about helping people live their best life.

They Show Us That It’s Okay To Have Emotions

Every time they walk into someone’s life, none of the stories are the same as the other. Everyone has different issues, want something else from life and are different from the next. But, they always tell each person that it’s okay to have bad days and to feel things, no matter what stage in your life you are. A lot of intimate anecdotes have been shared on Queer Eye and while the audience cries, the Fab 5 cry along with us and feel.

They Promote Self-Care And Self-Love

If everyone had the personality traits of the Fab 5– or even half of the personality traits, then we’d already be living in a better world. From Jonathan Van Ness’s uplifting dialogue about grooming to Tan France’s speech on wearing clothing that accentuates our figure, because we are all beautiful! Moments like these, even though we are not getting Queer Eye-d, we follow their advice.

Because inadvertently, we take in the fact that we need to take care of ourselves and love ourselves, too. And a french tuck never hurt anybody.

They Are Funny Without Being Mean

It’s quite rare to find someone who is funny but doesn’t make any mean jokes. On Queer Eye, however, there are five guys who are so adorably funny that they become master comedians. The Fab 5 don’t even try their hardest to be funny, it just comes naturally to them. Their jokes are not at the expense of anyone else and we love a group of considerate men.

Let us know in the comments if there are other reasons why the Fab 5 from Queer Eye give you hope for humanity!
