Going to the cinema is a fun activity and 2019 has been a great year for movies. Get ready for even more incredible movies coming this year. From comedy to romance, to horror, this list of what you have to see at the cinema this month of June has everything you could possibly want!
One of Marvel’s biggest storylines and most confusing is back for its fourth installment in the prequel series.
“During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.”
Another exciting sequel that has our inner child coming out!
“Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang embark on a road trip with Bonnie and a new toy named Forky. The adventurous journey turns into an unexpected reunion as Woody’s slight detour leads him to his long-lost friend Bo Peep. As Woody and Bo discuss the old days, they soon start to realize that they’re worlds apart when it comes to what they want from life as a toy.”
An epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years. Starring heartthrobs such as Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, and Richard Madden. The film is also full of great musical numbers!
A Disney classic remade into a gorgeous live version.
“Aladdin is a lovable street urchin who meets Princess Jasmine, the beautiful daughter of the sultan of Agrabah. While visiting her exotic palace, Aladdin stumbles upon a magic oil lamp that unleashes a powerful, wisecracking, larger-than-life genie. As Aladdin and the genie start to become friends, they must soon embark on a dangerous mission to stop the evil sorcerer Jafar from overthrowing young Jasmine’s kingdom.”
It’s been a trend in the industry recently to make films about global superstars. We’ve had Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman and now we have Yesterday, about The Beatles.
“Jack Malik is a struggling singer-songwriter in an English seaside town whose dreams of fame are rapidly fading, despite the fierce devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie. After a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles have never existed. Performing songs by the greatest band in history to a world that has never heard them, Jack becomes an overnight sensation with a little help from his agent.”
A comedy is everyone’s favourite genre really and we love this film with two amazing female leads.
“Academic overachievers Amy and Molly thought keeping their noses to the grindstone gave them a leg up on their high school peers. But on the eve of graduation, the best friends suddenly realize that they may have missed out on the special moments of their teenage years. Determined to make up for lost time, the girls decide to cram four years of not-to-be-missed fun into one night – a chaotic adventure that no amount of book smarts could prepare them for.”
Featuring the iconic Chucky, this slasher film will have you hiding behind your popcorn.
“After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother – a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.”
