6 Ways To Be More Confident With Your Fashion

Finding ways to be more confident in your fashion is a perfect way to increase your self-confidence and body positivity. How you dress is a way to present who you are to the world around you, so why not present the best and most confident version of yourself? I know it sounds scary, but it’ll be so worth it in the end! Here are six different ways to become more confident with your fashion. You can thank me later!

1. Wear items that you’re instantly drawn to.

There’s a reason why some pieces catch your eye and some don’t. We are instantly drawn to pieces that we like; whether it’s a bold print, specific cut or colour. If you see a piece that you like in a store, try it on! If it’s something that’s a little out of your comfort zone, don’t be afraid. This could be the start of something amazing, something that will help you be more confident with your fashion.

2. Pay attention to the fit, not the size.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wearing a slightly bigger size than you think. Everybody is shaped differently, so don’t expect everything that’s one particular size to fit you every time. When something fits your body perfectly, you’ll instantly feel more confident. So don’t be afraid to go a size up, or maybe even a size down to perfect your outfit. Size is just a number!

3. Invest in a few staple items.

There’s nothing better than having a few garments that you know will always look good on you and go with every other piece in your wardrobe. The feeling when you don’t have to worry whether your outfit looks good or not will always make you feel more confident. A simple white tee, a faux leather jacket or a pair of skinny jeans are good starting points, but feel free to expand this list with whatever you want.

4. Develop a signature.

Developing a signature look doesn’t mean wearing something that’s way out of your comfort zone. It just means that whatever part of your outfit makes you most confident, make it your signature! If it’s a bold lip colour, go for it! High-waisted pants that fit your body perfectly? Incorporate it into your everyday look! Putting your signature into every outfit will instantly make you feel more confident and you’ll become known for your signature, and what makes you more confident than that?

5. Don’t leave the house if you don’t feel confident in what you’re wearing.

I know this seems obvious, but if you’re looking in the mirror and don’t feel good in what you’re wearing, don’t wear it! Every time you second guess your outfit, you’ll feel less confident when you leave the house. When in doubt, change your outfit. Throw on one of your staple items, or fall back on an outfit that you know works. It’s better to feel more confident in a look you’ve worn before than to wear something that you’re doubting and will lower your confidence throughout the day.

6. Experiment and expand your fashion comfort zone!

Speaking from personal experience, expanding your fashion comfort zone will help you be more confident. Even if it’s just baby steps, it’ll be so worth it. Start off by pairing a bolder piece with a neutral outfit, and go from there. Wear pieces that you couldn’t image wearing, try colours that you’ve never considered before. Life is too short to not push your boundaries!
