10 Ways To Add Subtle Pops Of Colour To Your Home

Every home needs lots of pops of colour to make it feel exciting, inviting and homely. Colour can add and create emotion and helps you to fit into and understand your environment. It is very important to ensure that you add colour into every aspect of your life to brighten up your life and your mood. While it is important to have colour in your home, this does not necessarily mean that you have to repaint your whole house or turn it into an overpowering rainbow.

Small inserts of colour are much more impacting than large chunks of colour or entire rooms of colour. Too much colour can be overwhelming and looses the impact on your emotions. This is why we have made a list of 10 different ways to add subtle pops of colour to your home.

1. LED Light Strips

Colour changing LED light strips are the perfect way to add pops of colour into your home. LED light strips can be hung anywhere in your house to add extra lighting and pops of colour into any room. These are most effective when hung near the skirting board around the ceiling or framing bulky furniture such as bookshelves or dressers.

2. Rugs

Another effective way to add pops of colour into your home is by adding rugs. Rugs can come in many shapes or sizes so can fit into any space in any room. There are many different patterns or colours to choose from, so it is a great way to have a subtle pop of colour that doesn’t have to take over the whole space.

3. Artworks

Hanging paintings in your home is a great way to have a piece of art and pops of colour around your house. Artworks are a great way to have colour on your walls that can complement your furniture without the colours being too suffocating in the room.

4. Tapestries

Tapestries look beautiful when hung on the wall particularly behind furniture or above the bed for a nice subtle pop of colour. With a tapestry hung in the room, there is pretty much no need for any colour to be added into a room.

5. Statement Chair

Adding a colourful armchair into your living room is a great way to add a statement pop of colour into your home. Statement chairs look elegant and beautiful in any room and can be found in any colour and any chair style.

6. Colourful Couch

If a statement chair isn’t a big enough statement for you then you can add a large, colourful couch to your living room. This is a great room to fill the room with pops of colour and brighten up the mood of the room.

8. Plants

A great way to have nice, bright and natural shades of green in your home is to grow house plants. Plants add awesome pops of colour subtly into your home as well as add a natural element.

9. Pillows

If you already have chairs and couches in your living room and don’t want to replace them with colourful ones, pillows are a great way to add pops of colour for a fraction of the cost. Adding a few pillows to the couch and arm chairs in an organised colour scheme will successfully brighten up your home.

10. Throw Blankets

The last way to add subtle pops of colour to your home is with throw blankets. Drape them over chairs or couches, fold them in the corner, or have a basket dedicated to them and you will have comfort and warmth in an array of cheerful colours.
