Following the trajectory of today’s Disney films, Aladdin is a live-action remake of the famous 1992 animated film. Like the original, this family movie centres around the adventures of street-rat Aladdin as he encounters the wise-cracking Genie (played by Will Smith) and the villainous Jafar, while falling in love with the princess Jasmine. Furthermore, like 2017’s Beauty and the Beast and the original movie, Aladdin will also be a musical. A remake of the 1994 Disney classic, The Lion King brings the characters we know and love to life amidst the backdrop of the African Sahara. The movie centres on the life of Simba and his struggle to become the king of Pride Rock, while battling against his uncle Scar. The movie boasts a stellar voice cast, with the likes of Donald Glover (Simba), Beyonce Knowles-Carter (Nala), Seth Rogen (Pumba), Billy Eichner (Timon) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), as well as James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa.
