Tips And Tricks To Feel More Confident At The Gym

The gym can be a scary place, especially if you don’t feel like you have your summer body ready. But never fear! I am here to share some tips and tricks to make you feel confident at the gym so you want to keep going back for more!

Gym Clothes

I am a firm believer that if you look good you feel good, and the way to achieve this is through cute gym clothes. Go ahead and treat yourself to a new set of gym clothes, this will not only boost your confidence but will also motivate you to hit the gym. New gyms can be a bit pricey but do not underestimate their powers of motivation.

I find that high waisted gym tights that have a support tight waistband make me feel the most confident. They hold and flatten my tummy which I love. They make me feel like I look my best and that I have nothing to feel insecure about. This is my favourite trick to feeling confident and my all-time favourite item to wear in the gym.

If you get to the gym and instantly have a mind blank and forget what you are supposed to do, write it down before you go. Have a plan written down in the notes section of your phone and you can’t go wrong! Get your inspiration from personal trainers, most of the time they will post workouts on their Instagrams. If you are struggling to find anything that sparks your interest, then you can not go wrong with a class.

Group fitness classes are the perfect place to start, especially if you are just starting your fitness journey. Relax! No One Is Looking Anyway

A super common misconception is that people who are new to the gym feel like everyone is looking at them and judging them. This could NOT be less true. Not one single person is looking at someone else at the gym and judging them. If you ever think that someone is looking at you, chances are that they are more so looking through you, and are trying to muster up the last bit of energy they have to finish their set.

So get out of your own head and just focus on your music and the body you want. I know it can be hard to shake the feeling of judgment but try!

Breathe, don’t overthink and get your sweat on! The gym is a place for everyone to escape their daily stresses. No one is paying attention to anyone. Let us know if these tips have helped you be more confident in the gym!
