2.Bea’s of Bloomsbury

This bakery is yet another amazing place that you absolutely have to visit when you’re in London. Alongside their scrumptious cakes and cupcakes, Bea’s of Bloomsbury also do incredible afternoon teas. So if you’re after some of the best handmade cakes in the capital, then look no further.


3.Lola’s Cupcakes

This isn’t strictly speaking a bakery, but rather a stand that sells an incredible variety of mesmerising cupcakes. They also do delicious cakes to order, so be sure to try out some of those as well. Conveniently located outside train and tube stations, Lola’s Cupcakes will inevitably draw you in with their colourful display and incredible taste.

4.Nordic Bakery

This one is my personal favourite and definitely one of the best London bakeries. This incredibly unique establishment focuses on (you guessed it) Nordic baked goods. They serve jaw-dropping cinnamon buns, dark rye bread treats, tray bakes, berry-flavoured buns, and everyone’s favourite classics such as almond twists. What’s more, they have a great selection of savoury dishes, including smoked salmon and meatball sandwiches.

5.Bread Ahead

Address: Borough Market, Cathedral St, SE1 9DE

This one-off bakery is definitely one of London’s best, especially if you’re after something that’s original. Located at the heart of every foodie’s paradise (that is, Borough Market) Bread Ahead serve delicious freshly baked bread to suit all tastes. They are known in particular for their large selection of incredible doughnuts that are overfilled with delicious fillings.


6.Dominique Ansel Bakery

Address: 17-21 Elizabeth Street, SW1W 9RP

Now this is a definitely a one of a kind bakery, which is headed by one of the world’s best pastry chefs (no joke). Serving a delicious array of fresh croissants, cakes, and cookies, this is a bakery that you absolutely have to visit. They also offer their own unique creation known as a Cronut, which is an incredible combination of a doughnut with a croissant that takes three days to make.

7.E5 Bakehouse

Address: 395 Mentmore Terrace, E8 3PH

This bakery has gone all out and certainly deserves a place on our list of the top 10 London bakeries. Proud to present their very own stone mill, the E5 Bakehouse uses only locally sourced ingredients and creates the majority of their produce from scratch (that includes their preserves and some toppings). Most of their treats are made from sourdough, so be prepared to excite your tastebuds with incredible flavour combinations.

8.Lily Vanilli

Who doesn’t love a delicious cupcake that also doubles as a magnificent work of art? This unique London bakery serves beautiful creations that are almost too good to eat (but we still do). They are also kind enough to share a lot of their recipes online, so you could attempt to make their baked goods in your own time.

9.The Old Post Office Bakery

If you’re after some traditional baked goods such as sausage rolls and white bloomers, then this London bakery is one that you absolutely have to visit. Having operated since the 1980s, this location prepares delicious baked goods for everyone to enjoy. It’s been rumoured that they serve some of the best classic sandwiches in all of London.

10.Peggy Porschen Cakes

And the award for the most Instagrammable bakery in London goes to Peggy Porschen Cakes! Seriously, we just can’t get enough of how incredibly beautiful the bakery is both inside and out. Serving a vast array of delicious floral-themed baked goods, this bakery is definitely one of London’s best. You just can’t go wrong with any of their creations, whether its marshmallows, cakes, or cupcakes.
