10 Green Alcoholic Drinks For St. Patrick’s Day

Green alcoholic drinks are the perfect way to celebrate hard this St. Patrick’s Day. Getting down with the emerald theme can be super fun! Don’t just go for boring pints or a glass of rosé – get creative, get floral, get green. Here are ten green alcoholic drinks to satisfy your inner alcoholic Leprechaun this St. Patrick’s Day.

1. Kiwi Smoothie With A Twist

If you’re planning on drinking green alcoholic drinks all day, as I am, perhaps it’s best you start your day on a substantial, wholesome note, like with this delightful green smoothie for example. Just throw in some kiwi, kale, apple and whatever alcohol you like.

2. Green Baileys

Mmm, soft creamy Baileys. Can I get some food colouring with that? Or some absinthe? Just kidding. Don’t mix those two just yet, you crazy motherlicker.

3. Mojito

Whether you want to put in some kiwi purée or stuff this drink to the brim with mint leaves, this drink will satisfy your quota for green alcoholic drinks for this St. Patrick’s Day. Plus mojitos are super light and refreshing, you can save this drink for when you’re attempting to rehydrate your maybe-too-festive friend.

4. Green Margarita

You can make the perfect green alcoholic drinks for this special day by following the recipe in the picture below. A margarita, as we all know, is a simple, delicious and citrusy drink that’s perfect for getting merry and feeling classy at the same time. Also, tequila is a very good anti-depressant, so I’ll be having nine of those, please.

5.  Absinthe

I mean, there’s not much to say with this one. We all know it. We’ve all seen the fairy. We know she’s green, and probably Irish too. Just be careful with this one – maybe save it for the end of the night.

6. Sparkling Shamrock

Just add some pear vodka and some elderflower liqueur for a light, sweet and green base. Then add cucumber, mint and some lemonade or soda (I’d personally go for some Prosecco though). It’s easy to make, impossible to get wrong and incredibly delicious.

7. Guinness and Green Jelly Shots

These take a bit more prep time than all aforementioned green alcoholic drinks but they will definitely be worth the slight hassle and you’ll probably have just as much fun making them (especially if you’ve been following my drinking regime) as you will consuming them. Follow this link for the Guinness & Green recipe.

8. Green Dublin Apple Cocktail

Think Apple Martini meets Irish whiskey. Either way, it’s green,  alcoholic and the perfect drink for this St. Patrick’s Day. Get the recipe by clicking on the photo below.

9. Matcha Honey Spritzer

You know that green plant everyone’s talking about at the moment? Matcha? Well, it’s not exclusive to coffee shops and it shouldn’t be either. Just add half a teaspoon of matcha powder to a teaspoon of water and then mix in some honey till it’s dissolved.  Then add ice, dry white wine, and some ginger ale.

10. Rum and Kiwi Juice

Mix some white rum and kiwi juice in a tall glass with plenty of crushed ice. This will prove a perfect green alcoholic drink for this St. Patricks Day. This is pretty much as simple as it gets, and probably just as delicious.
