10 Fun Things To Do For Free In London

There are plenty of things to do for free in London so don't think you have to break the bank to have fun! These are some of the best free activities to do in London whether it be a weekday or a weekend!

Living in one of the best cities in the world comes at an expensive cost. London is such an amazing place, you probably think that you have to spend a ridiculous amount to enjoy it. But for those people conscious about the price of a pint, you’ll be surprised to hear that you can easily enjoy London when you have no money, as there’s loads of things you can do for free! So, here’s a list of all the things to do for free in London!

1. Go to an art gallery or museum

London is a cultural hotspot, and you’d be surprised at the amount of galleries and museums that there are that are free to visit! Certain sections in the British Museum and National Gallery are free to enter, so indulge your mind in some culture without it costing you a penny!

2. Walk around one of London’s parks

Obviously this is only something you can really enjoy if its warm and dry outside, but now we’re approaching summer it seems like the perfect opportunity to enjoy some nature. Regents Park comes alive in the summer, with performances in the outdoor theatre from May to September, or visit the deer in Richmond Park.


3. Visit a market

Yes the intention at a market is to buy things, but there are so many different markets in London that just going to have a look is an experience in itself. Portobello Road Market is located in Notting hill, and has an energetic and eclectic charm that makes it worth a visit even if you’re not going to buy anything. Or takes some insta worthy pics at Colombia Road Flower Market, the selection of flowers and cute coffee shops are worth a visit.

4. Visit a garden

Living in a city metropolis, you might not think visiting gardens would be worth it or even something to do. But the Barbican Centre hosts the second biggest conservatory in London filled with 2000 of tropical plants and trees. So why not get lost in this tropical paradise for a few hours and take a break from the concrete jungle that is London!

5. Comedy shows

Everyone loves a laugh, we’ll love it more for free. Why not go visit a comedy show at Angel Comedy Club, which offers free comedy every night of the week! The Camden Head hosts free comedy every night from 8pm, but get there early to get your seats, and to enjoy a night of laughter!


6. Tourist attractions

As you live in London, you might not want to get bogged down in touristy activities with crowds of people. But you’ll be surprised by how some of them are completely free! Why not go watch the Changing the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace or see Trafalgar Square. These are some of the most popular things to do for free in London!

Nothing can make you fall in love with London more than a view of the beautiful skyline. You can visit one of the best views in London for completely free, just book your visit to the Sky Garden to be amazed at London’s beauty.
