10 Food Trucks In London You Need To Check Out

Although restaurants are great, there is nothing better than a good ol’ food truck! Not only are they usually cheaper, so it’s great if you’re on a student budget, but the food is normally made right in front of you! The food typically tastes great and is also perfect on busy days, as you can eat on the go! There are so many delicious food trucks around London, but sometimes it can be overwhelming… So here are 10 of the best reviewed (or my personal favourite) food trucks in London!

1. Mother Clucker

Located in Ely’s Yard in Brick Lane, this food truck is a must-visit if you’re a fan of fried chicken! Not only is it super cool because their truck is a converted US army ambulance, but their fried chicken isn’t just regular chicken but TEA BRINED, BUTTERMILK SOAKED, TWICE BATTERED fried chicken! Also, don’t forget to try their hot sauces and Cajun fries – you won’t regret it! Get their combo of chicken strips, fries, and a drink for just £9!

2. Luardos

Do you like Mexican street food? Hell yeah! Well, why not have some of your favourite Mexican dishes from this amazing food truck based in Whitecross?! Burritos are my fav and Luardo’s specialises in these bad boys, and whether you’re a meat, veggie, or vegan kind of gal, this little van can fulfill all your Mexican food desires! Their van is also really pretty and pink, so it is the perfect Instagram opportunity.

3. The Grilling Greek

Available at the Camden Lock Market, this food truck serves authentic Greek food 7 days a week! If you love pita bread, fresh tzatziki, and either pork, chicken or halloumi, then why not combine them all and order a souvlaki – a Greek favourite. If you haven’t already tried halloumi and are a cheese fan, then trust me it’s never too late; it has become one of my all-time favourite cheeses! Or if you’re a chip lover, maybe try the hand cut, triple-cooked chips with oregano and feta cheese for just £3.10!

4. Rainbo

Take yourself on a trip to Tokyo and enjoy delicious Japanese food at this amazing food truck. Served from an iconic 1948 Ford Pick Up Truck, you can stuff yourself with their delicious gyozas 7 days a week from their permanent spot in Camden! Their menus change daily, but some of their dishes are permanent -why not try one of their signature dishes, the yakitori skewers, and choose from chicken, pork or prawns!

5. Black Cab Coffee Company

Technically not based around food, but still worth a mention is this great little find. If you are a coffee-lover, then why not get it served from a black cab – the ultimate London symbol! But do not fear, this little cab is not restricted to just coffee; it also serves sweet treats and cocktails! I found this one on Brick Lane, but I’m pretty sure it moves around so check online to see where it is!

6. Van Dough

PIZZA PARTY IN SOUTH EAST LONDON! From the back of a 1970 Citroen Hy Van, you can get fresh, woodfire baked sourdough pizza! In addition to the normal margheritas’, this amazing food truck also serves up some wacky but delicious options, such as; artichoke and parmesan pizza; mortadella, mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan and rocket pizza, and Salami and mascarpone! This is also great for all the veggies out there, as they seem to have a lot of delicious vegetarian options!

7. The Cheese Truck

Yummy, cheesy deliciousness! Craving a grilled cheese? Well, this is the place to go! With so many different cheesy combos to choose from, these grilled sandwiches will be unlike any other you have had! If you want, you can even add bacon to your sandwich, or just have the cheese smothered over some of your ‘fondue fries’. Or if you’re more of a pasta lover, check out their macaroni cheese! You can find this one-of-a-kind cheesey truck at the Maltby Street Markets on Saturdays and Sundays, and also at some ‘Feast-ivals’ across the UK!

Now full-time at Pop Brixton, you can get all your salty beef bagel goodness all days of the week! Some of their dishes, like the ‘Lord Rupert,’ (salt beef, mustard, melted cheese, and pickle) and ‘The Duke’, have also been recognised by London Cheap Eats and Time Out Best 30 Dishes; so make sure to check them out!

9. Anna Mae’s Mac’n’Cheese

One of the ultimate combinations, Mac’n’Cheese is always a winner! This renowned food truck is the OG mac and cheese dealer in the UK, and has been enjoyed and recognised by famous brands such as Nike, Glastonbury Festival, NFL, Virgin, and the BBC! Whether you’re all about keeping it not-so-plain and simple with their OG three cheese sauce or want to spice it up with some chipotle, jalapenos, sour cream and coriander (The Spicy Juan), there will be an option for you! Big up that cheesy goodness!

10. Duck Truck

“Move Over Chicken, There’s A New Poultry In Town.” This specialty food truck is based in East London, in Spitalfields and is one not to be missed! Why not create your own masterpiece and pick a base, your style of duck, any veg, and sauce for a maximum of £8! Or, if you’re not feeling creative, try one of their many favourites – from their ‘Traditional crispy duck wrap’ to their ‘Confit duck leg and pomegranate salad?’
