Top 10 Fall Hipster Trends And Where To Find Them

These fall hipster trends will have you looking on-point this autumn! We've put together a list of some of the best hipster looks you can find!

Now despite hipsters supposedly all being unique, there are definitely trends within the hipster fashion sphere. For me, summer was all about bell sleeved floral dresses and vintage chunky sandals but having already began the hunt for the perfect items this fall, here are my top 10 picks for fall hipster trends.

1. Velvet beret

Berets have definitely made a comeback in the past few years, and this fall will be no exception. But we’ve all seen the classic knitted berets in a rainbow of colours, it’s time to step it up a notch. Therefore, I present the velvet beret. I recently discovered my own velvet beret at a vintage market in Bristol and haven’t looked back since. I would most likely style this with a tartan patterned coat and chunky pair of Dr Marten boots, perfect for the upcoming British fall. This is one of the best fall hipster trends!

2. Teddy coats

Teddy coats were a massive hit last fall and I can’t wait to dig mine out of the cupboard to wrap up in this fall. Most teddy coat’s last year came in neutral tones such as brown, black or cream. This year I think it’s time to go bold with the teddy coat and make it a statement piece. My own collection of teddy coats includes a mustard one, a red one and recently a bottle green one. So, don’t be afraid to add a splash of colour to your outfit this fall.

3. Dungarees

I cannot state how much I love dungarees and if you’re anything like me you’ll always be on the lookout for the perfect pair, ready to layer with a thick knit this fall. Dungarees are a go to comfortable outfit that can never look bad. Whether you have a pair of plain denim, black corduroy or rainbow striped, you will always be able to find a pair that suit you. And if you feel like it you can always add a leather belt round your waist to pull them in, and a bit of definition this fall.

4. Striped jeans

Vintage striped jeans are all the rage at the moment, but you’ll have to be quick to get your hands on a pair since they sell fast. Most striped jeans are in a mom jean style and are normally seen rolled up slightly to give them a more cropped look. The most likely place you’ll find a pair of these vintage gems is on Depop, and if you’re not already on their, you need to be! It is perfect for hipster fashion deals. This is one of the fall hipster trends we love!

5. Kickers

If you’re looking for a cute pair of boots this fall but don’t fancy splashing out on a pair of Dr Martens, then look no further. Although bought new Kickers aren’t very cheap, I would definitely recommend doing your research and buying a pair second hand. Ignore what they say about buying second hand shoes, it is ideal if you don’t want to spend too much on a new wardrobe this fall, and Kickers will be the perfect addition to any outfit.

6. Corduroy

Corduroy is ideal for fall as it’s so thick and soft, it’s bound to keep you warm up until next summer. Although I haven’t named a specific corduroy item, anything corduroy will be in this season. Corduroy jackets and trousers will fit right in with the rest of your fall items and can even be paired together to make the perfect co-ord set.

7. Maxi Skirts

These summer essentials can easily be transferred to your fall style guide by switching out the sandals and vests for boots and an oversized denim jacket. My personal favourite style of maxi skirt comes in a soft floral pattern with large slits up both sides, before being finished with a row of buttons up the front.

If you straighten or curl your hair a lot, you may find that you've damaged your hair. Look no further, as this is the best dry shampoo for damaged hair! We all know washing your hair everyday is bad enough, so you might as well invest in a repairing dry shampoo!

8. Cropped knits

Cropped knits can be paired with anything this fall and perfectly sit at the top of your waist, framing the rest of your outfit. They won’t only look great but will keep you warm this season. And don’t worry if it’s a bit oversized, just roll up the cuffs of the jumper to finish the look.

9. Layering

If you’re not ready to leave behind your summer dresses yet, then this will be perfect for you this fall. Simply grab a long sleeved top or cropped knit and layer your dress on top to create a warm and stylish hipster look. Once again, if you feel that by layering it makes the dress appear a bit chunky then feel free to add a thick belt to draw it back in and hug your frame.

10. Coloured denim

I have always been a fan of coloured denim, be it denim jackets, trousers, skirts or dungarees, I believe the more colour the better. Bottle green, rust and mustard denim will be great this fall and really bring your fall look book to life. But don’t worry, classic black and blue will always be in fashion if you want to stick to the classic trends.
