Although, superfoods aren’t exactly notorious for being rich in flavour or particularly comforting, therefore sometimes it can be hard to work them into your eating habits. Well, fear not! Here are 8 easy ways to incorporate superfoods into your diet to transform your regular food routines into the healthy lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.

1. Eggs

Although eggs are notoriously high in cholesterol, they are actually a superfood; they contain high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, good fats, and nutrients. This low cal superfood can be prepared in various ways (some healthy not so healthy). Fried eggs and scrambled eggs are super easy ways to incorporate this beneficial food into your diet and are truly delicious. However, the butter and oils these types of eggs are cooked in can reduce their health benefits. Poached, soft boiled or hard boiled eggs are perfect for having on toast for breakfast or in your lunch-time salad. Easy, right?

2. Salmon

You’re probably aware that all fish is super healthy and contains many beneficial oils that aid with skin, hair, and nails. However, the nutrients found in salmon, if eaten consistently, will truly leave you reaping the rewards of this superfood. Salmon aids with boosting the immune system, brain development and nerve, bone and eye function whilst also acting as an anti-inflammatory. Blueberries are another superfood that is packed full of antioxidants, phytoflavinoids, potassium, and vitamin C and highly recommended by doctors and nutritionists. As well as lowering your risk of heart disease and cancer, they are also anti-inflammatory. Blueberries are a perfect pancake topping; eaten with some yogurt and honey; in amongst a fruit salad; added to porridge and are extra delicious frozen and eaten alone. Not to mention they are packed full of flavour and can be eaten as a snack on the go!

Not only is greek yogurt great with blueberries, it’s also a great alternative source of protein as it contains just as much protein as 85 grams of lean meat, ideal for vegetarians and vegans or simply if you don’t fancy any meat. Greek yogurt is perfect with some fruit and honey or added to granola instead of milk.
