10 Easy And Healthy Breakfast Smoothies To Start Your Day

Breakfast smoothies are the best way to start the day. With a boost in nutrients and vitamins, you will have the energy you need. Plus, it can be on the go for when you have a busy morning or are running late. Be sure to prep all the fruit and veg in sandwich bags and store in the freezer, so you can just add the liquid and they are ready to go. Here are the 10 super easy and nutritious smoothies to have in the morning, that will get you bright and ready for the day ahead.

1. The Hulk

Super green and as powerful as the Hulk, this healthy smoothie is a great way to feel ready for the day. Throw the ingredients into a blender and blitz away.


Handful of raw spinach or raw curly kale
1/2 of a mango, chopped
1 kiwi
1/2 – 1 tsp of wheatgrass powder
250ml of water

Boost the nutrition – leave the skin on the kiwi, don’t forget to give it a good wash before adding it to the blender though. Wheatgrass powder is a great super food, very high in a variety of vitamins. Be aware that it does have a strong flavour, so add a little add a time.

2. The Crunchy Monkey

In need of a protein boost? Peanut butter is a healthy fat, super full of protein and is utterly delicious. This smoothie won’t feel like a healthy drink, but more like a naughty milkshake for dessert.


1 banana
1 heaped tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter
Handful of oats
3 tbsp of natural yogurt
250ml of alternative milk such as almond soya

Boost the nutrition – use a sugar free peanut butter instead for this smoothie, as the banana is naturally really sweet. Additionally, opt for a low fat and low sugar yogurt to make this smoothie extra healthy and guilt free!

3. The Detox One

My body is my temple! For a refresh and to cleanse your body, try this feel good smoothie in the morning before a busy day.


1 green apple
Small piece of root ginger, fresh
Juice of half a lemon
25g of pineapple
1/2 stick of celery
100ml of water

Boost the nutrition – lemon and ginger are a great addition to any smoothie to cleanse and detoxify the body.

4. Vegan Antics

Suitable for vegans, or even if your not one , I urge you to try this because it is so delicious!


3 tsp of acai berry powder
50g frozen blueberries
175ml of alternative milk such as oat soya
1 banana
50g of soya coconut yogurt

Boost the nutrition – acai berry powder is an excellent source of antioxidants, as are blueberries. A daily dose of these berries prevent free radicals, caused by oxidation in the body, studies have shown that these can help reduce the risk of cancer.

5. The Tropics

Take a trip to Hawaii, and say aloha to this naturally mega sweet but nutritious smoothie.


50g of pineapple
The pulp of 1 passion fruit
1/2 of a mango chopped
Small handful of flax seeds
150ml of water

Boost the nutrition – flax seeds are full of fiber and really amplify this smoothie.

6. The Vitamin C Boost

This smoothie is perfect for collagen synthesis and work to enhance the immune system, ideal for when you’re feeling a little under the weather.


1 carrot top and tail

Hanful of oats

1 large orange, peeled

1 kiwi
1/2 of a red pepper
150ml of water

Boost the nutrition – leave the skin on the carrots and kiwi here, as well giving them a good wash before going into the blender.

7. The Holy Kale

Be hold “The Holy Kale”, a simple but powerful blend of curly kale and sweet strawberries.

1/4 of an avocado
1/2 tsp of spirulina powder
Handful of spinach
1 banana

9. Hearty Beets

Full of nutrients to promote heart health, yet quite a distinctive flavour this one.


1 beetroot
Handful of spring greens
20g of almonds

250ml of water

Boost the nutrition – as if this smoothie wasn’t good enough for you, almonds are a good addition to this blend, an excellent source of healthy fats.

10. The Chia Leader

Your morning motivation in a glass! Chia seeds are becoming a new trend in the world of food, and can be pretty much purchased in all supermarkets now. Drink this one up fast though, as the seeds will start to absorb the milk pretty quick, making for a very thick drink.


1 peach, with the stone removed
Handful of raspberries
150ml of coconut milk
2 tbsp of chia seeds

Boost the nutrition – here I used low fat and dairy free coconut milk, the Chi brand is good for this and includes natural ingredients.
