For the sake of transparency, Estée Lauder stipulates that they are committed to the elimination of animal testing unless “a regulatory body demands it for its safety or regulatory assessment.” Since Estée Lauder sells their products in China (where “animal testing on cosmetics or cosmetic ingredients is required by law”) they can’t be classed as a cruelty-free company.

This bargainous beauty belter applies almost identically to its more expensive and non-cruelty-free competitor, although it isn’t as long-wearing. Whilst it’s one that might be best for those of us who prefer to let our skin breathe, for just £5 it will make a worthy addition to any novice’s makeup bag.
