As sons and daughters, we choose to show our love to our parents on their special day by taking care of them for once. It is usually the thought that counts. As little kids, we used to make them breakfast in bed. This year, it’s time to step it up a notch. On Sunday, June 16th, the entire day is reserved for all the fathers around the world. It’s Father’s Day. There’s no better way to start this day than with a brunch. Show your dad the love with one or more of these seven brunch recipes that will fit right in for a fabulous father’s day celebrations.

The common theme of these ‘Delish’ inspired Father’s Day recipes is meaty and hefty, just a heads up.

1. Steak & Eggs Hash

Get two russet potatoes and put them into a medium saucepan, add water, bring to boil and let them cook until they are tender. It should take from 10-15 minutes.

Pour one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season your New York Strip Steak with salt and pepper and then add to the skillet and cook until it reaches your or your dad’s desired doneness. For medium-rare cook each side for 4-6 minutes, then remove steak and let it rest aside.

In the meantime, add one onion and two bell peppers to the skillet and cook over medium heat until they soften. It will roughly take 5 minutes. Bring your potatoes to the skillet and season with salt, pepper and one teaspoon of paprika. Cook until potatoes start getting crispy. Cut your cooked steak into 1” pieces and mix with the potatoes and stir.

Now the fun part. Take a wooden spoon and create four holes in the mixture to see the bottom of the skillet. Crack an egg into each of the four holes and season with salt and pepper. Cover the skillet and let the eggs cook for five minutes for a runny egg. A meal that the whole family can dig in on Father’s Day.

2. Crescent Breakfast Ring

The crescent breakfast ring is one of the more out-there recipes. But it is Father’s Day, so the bigger the better. To break it down, it is your regular bacon, scrambled eggs inside a dough made into a ring. For this one, it is better to demonstrate the instructions visually.

3. Nutella Stuffed Pancakes

Every brunch feast deserves as many sweet treats as savory dishes. This one may not be the most original idea, but no one ever did any harm with Nutella stuffed pancakes, so don’t be shy and sweeten up this Father’s Day.

Get your baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Take out the Nutella and scoop about two tablespoons of it straight onto the baking sheet and spread into a flat disc. The discs should be around 2 ½” wide. Then freeze the discs for 30-60 minutes until they are solid. Keep them inside the freezer until you need them for the pancakes.

Put out a nonstick skillet over medium heat and grease the pan with cooking spray. For the actual pancake batter, put one spoon full into the pan. Now bring out a Nutella disc and place it into the center of the batter and pour a bit of the batter on top of the disc as well. After 2-3 minutes, when it all starts to bubble and pop, flip it.

Cook until both sides of the pancake are golden. Serve with sliced strawberries.

4. Bacon Egg-In-A-Heart

This recipe is the one that will talk to your dad’s heart the most. Nothing says ‘I love you’ and ‘I appreciate you’ like a bacon egg-in-a-heart on Father’s Day.

5. Huevos Rancheros Breakfast Sandwich

We’ve got sweet, savory, and this huevos rancheros breakfast sandwich will probably take the healthiest recipe in this list. It is also an option for the vegetarian dads out there.

Then you will dig into the pico de gallo: chop two tomatoes, and 1/4 red onion, one jalapeño. Squeeze in one lime and season with salt and pepper.

The sandwich consists of one flour tortilla and an English muffin. Cut up the tortilla into triangles, cover with olive oil and a hint of salt. Bake it in an oven at 350 degrees F until it turns golden/brown. Then take the English muffin slice in half and toast until it is slightly brown. Lastly, make a regular fried egg.

Now for the finished product, spread a layer of guacamole on the bottom half of the English muffin, with one or two tortilla chips on top. Top it with the fried egg and pico de gallo and finish it off with the top half of the muffin.

6. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Pancakes

We couldn’t resist having another recipe for the sweet teeth. Peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes seem like your regular dish that needs to be included in your favorite brunch recipes, especially for Father’s Day. For any younger kids trying to surprise their dads, this will be the easier option.

In a bowl, stir the pancake mix, one egg, 1/2 c. peanut butter, 1 c. milk, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips. In a large, nonstick skillet, melt one teaspoon of butter over medium-high heat. One pancake will make up for 1/4-cupfuls of batter. Pour it on the heated skillet. Let it cook until the top starts to bubble; edges begin to crisp and then flip. While cooking more pancakes, place the cooked ones in an oven that you preheated to 200 degrees.

7. Brunch Lasagna

Brunch lasagna is a recipe more on the hefty side. For a starving dad wanting to celebrate with their families, it is precisely something he will want to dig into.
