Summer is that time of the year when you have so much free time that you end up spending most of it eating and munching all day. There are tons of snacks that you can enjoy as you sit beside the pool or as you soak in the sun lying on the beach. You can vary your choice with both healthy and unhealthy snacks, whichever you choose, you need to check out this selection of the best summer snacks you surely can’t deny are the greatest.

1.Fresh Fruit

Biting into fresh fruit in the summer is probably one of the things nothing can beat. Summer really is the best moment to enjoy in-season fruit. Whether you prefer strawberries, stone fruits like peaches and plums or watermelon, they are the best summer snacks that will do good to your body too. So, dig in with your five a day by choosing fresh fruit as your summer snacks.

2.Frozen smoothies

Frozen smoothies are definitely a nice and refreshing snack that you can enjoy this summer. Everyone loves smoothies when it’s super-hot out there. Frozen fruit smoothies scream summer time more than any other snack and they are really easy and quick to prepare. Grab some of your favourite fruits, the ones that are perhaps too ripe to really enjoy eating and throw them into the freezer for a couple of hours. After checking if they are chilled enough, you can then move on adding milk, or ice-cream then blend it all together. For a healthy version, the frozen fruit blend alone could also be an enjoyable and refreshing snack.

3.Ice cream

Summer wouldn’t be summer without ice cream. It is the only season of the year when you consciously eat ice cream multiple times during the day without regretting it at all. In a sense, you use ice cream as a refreshing snack to beat the heat, but honestly speaking, ice cream is also great when you are bored and just feel like eating something.

4.Hummus and veggies

Hummus has really become a big thing, especially for vegetarian and vegans. Freshly cut veggies and hummus are a healthy alternative of fried and salty chips so definitely take this in count when choosing your best summer snacks this summer.

5.Mozzarella sticks

Most people are not a big fan of cheese, but mozzarella is a very light one compared to other types of cheese. You can either go for plain mozzarella sticks or for the ones coated with bread crumbs. They are both good options and you can’t deny that they are one of the best snacks you could enjoy this summer.

6.Guacamole dip and nachos

A good guacamole dip can boost your nutritional absorption and satisfy you craving for nachos too. This is a perfect snack to enjoy sharing, either at a house party or for a picnic in the park.

7.Toffee pop corn

Pop corn is just THE snack. Perfect to enjoy alone or in great company. Just because it is summer, we are allowed an extra step: toffee coated popcorn. They are pretty easy to prepare at home, you just need to make a caramel/toffee melting and as soon as your corn starts popping, then you can go ahead and poor the toffee over the freshly made pop corn. And there you go, ready to enjoy your delicious and home-made snack.

8.Yoghurt and fresh berries

Yoghurt is another refreshing snack that you can enjoy adding your favourite season fruits or berries. Yoghurt is lower in calories compared to ice cream so dig in with your favourite flavour and add some fruit to it.

9.Home-made potato chips

Light crunchy potato chips are just the ultimate snacks world widely. Everyone loves them. If you want to take your cuisine skills unto another level, you could try making them at home by yourself. You will have to give it a try a couple times before you get the perfect crispy slice but hopefully the taste will be worth your effort.
