mm
There are not just disadvantages to being single, there are many benefits of being single as well. Here are 8 reasons why being single is good for you.

Some people mistakenly pity a young single woman, and she might even mistakenly pity herself, but the reality is that solitude in your younger years should be celebrated and, most importantly, valued! What’s the point in being single if you aren’t going to make the most of it? And, believe me, there is a lot to be made the most of…there are so many benefits of being single while you’re young, but I’ve narrowed it down to the 8 most defining ones which every single young woman should relish in!

1.You Have Complete Freedom

You can literally do whatever you like and not have to report back to anyone. It may sound silly, but when you’re in a relationship you’re automatically expected inform one another about your whereabouts pretty much all of the time. If you’re single, you can do whatever you please at whatever hour, without pretty much a care in the world!

2.You Are Fully Independent

Your decisions depend on you and nobody else, one of the best benefits of being single, you don’t need to share them with anyone else or factor someone else in! This applies to decisions regarding your education or career, as well as your goals and expectations for the future. You are fully independent to do what YOU want, and that is a luxury which should be cherished whilst being young and single!

3.You Can Get To Know Yourself

Being in your twenties is a really defining time in a woman’s life, and being single allows you to really get to know yourself and what you want. The transition from adolescence to adulthood presents many changes which will still feel really new, and not being in a relationship gives you the chance to familiarise yourself with these new adjustments!

4.You Can Travel

For me one of the greatest benefits of being single while you’re young is being able to travel! Being commitment-free is a great excuse to see the world, on your own or with friends. Travelling broadens the mind and changes the way you view the world, creating a connection between you and an array of places which were once unknown to you. Of course you can travel the globe while you’re in a relationship too, but being single just gives you that little bit more freedom and independence!

5.You Can Date

OK, dating can be a nightmare, so maybe this won’t be viewed as a benefit by all single women, but it can also be really fun! Even if a date goes horribly, it’s still great life experience and you’ll live to tell the tale in years to come. You don’t necessarily need to be on Tinder, but enjoy not being restricted to just one person, and allow dating to broaden your social circle!

6.You Can Learn To Value Love In All Its Forms

Another benefit of being single while you’re young is that it allows you to invest more energy in other areas of your life. The most valuable form of love is by no means that which you find in a relationship, and having more time to spend with family, friends, and even colleagues will allow you to appreciate love in all its forms!

7.You Can Explore Your Own Passions

Everyone has their own passions, and those passions could potentially take us down many routes – if we let them! Being single while you’re young gives you more freedom to follow those passions, wherever they may take you. Maybe they lead you to a new city, a new country, or even a new continent! The importance is in having the freedom to invest yourself fully in what drives you forward.

8.You Don’t Need A Long-term Plan

No matter what age you are, being in a relationship creates an automatic pressure about the future – a pressure that a twenty-something-year-old could really do without! Being single eliminates all those dreaded pressures and expectations imposed on couples from a young age (moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, and having a baby).
